Kacey Musgraves premiered an ode to her best friend during her performance at the new Nashville venue, The Pinnacle. “She’s My Bitch” arrived in the middle of the set in celebration of the country musician’s Australian cattle dog, who is “so spicy, her name is Pepper.”

As Coco Chanel once said, “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.” Well, if that’s the case, then Jaden Smith might just be the most irreplaceable person to step foot on the 2025 Grammy red carpet. On February 2, 2025, the red carpet transformed into a wild runway of daring styles and boundary-pushing outfits. The After Earth star proved that the best way to stand out is to, well, be the castle.

No, we are not kidding. Really—he wore an actual castle as a headpiece, completely shifting the spotlight away from his classic black suit. With his bizarre yet brilliant ensemble, Will Smith’s son wasn’t just walking the carpet; he was owning it. And he wasn’t alone in making headlines.
From Bianca Censori’s sheer dress to Billie Eilish’s daring outfit, this year’s Grammy fashion was anything but ordinary.

Who would have thought Beyoncé would become the Grammys’ favorite country artist? After having had already been nominated in pop, R&b, rap, rock, and Edm categories, Queen Bey is this year’s only artist nominated across all four country genre categories: Best Country Solo Performance (“16 Carriages”), Best Country Duo/Group Performance (“II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus), Best Country Song (“Texas Hold ‘Em”), and Best Country Album (Cowboy Carter). How likely is she to win? As of this writing she ranks either first or second in all four categories according to the Gold Derby predictions, but she faces tough challenges across the board.

Kacey Musgraves is a confident earth mother in the new music video for “The Architect,” her Grammy-nominated song off her latest album, Deeper Well.
Filmed somewhere in a desert landscape, the video finds Musgraves communing with nature and all its earthly creations. She ponders a shiny red apple, rides a white horse, and walks through creeping snake-like roots. Musgraves also assembles an outsized jigsaw puzzle made of grass, piecing together a grand lawn.

It made perfect sense: The song Kacey Musgraves chose to perform at this year’s CMA Awards is also, by a long measure, the most traditionally country song on her 2024 album Deeper Well. It’s also, perhaps not coincidentally, the only song on the record co-written with her old Music Row writing partners, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne.
Performing entirely by herself on acoustic guitar (one of the only purely solo-acoustic performances of the night), Musgraves delivered a tender, moving take on “The Architect.” Eleven years after making her CMA debut with “Follow Your Arrow,...

The 2025 Grammy nominations included some artists who made history. That includes Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” earning the most nominations for a single album (11), which also made Beyoncé the most nominated female artist in a single year and the most nominated individual of all time (she has 99 career bids). But here are four more milestones that might’ve flown under the radar.

There’s a saying in Nashville — “It all begins with a song” — and this year’s glut of contenders for Best Country Song sure backs that up. Zach Bryan wrote a stunning reflection on grief, Kacey Musgraves ambitiously probed the meaning of life, and Jelly Roll reminded us that we’re all going through something or other.

Sheesh, you could have at least waved. On the vaguely Celtic-sounding folk song “Irish Goodbye,” Kacey Musgraves explains that she’s mostly a pretty forgiving person and pretty much liked you right up until you had the presumptuous audacity to ghost her. “I want to respect you and you know I tried,” she sings, her words melting into triplets of tolerance until they break: “But there ain’t much respect in an Irish goodbye.”

Kacey Musgraves, the esteemed Grammy-winning country singer, is celebrating her fifth studio album Deeper Wells with a tour by the same name, which commenced its journey on April 28 in Dublin, Ireland.
Hailing from the heartland of Texas and launching her career in Nashville in 2013, Musgraves made an indelible mark with her major-label debut album, Same Trailer Different Park, which garnered a Grammy Award for Best Country Album. What distinguishes Musgraves within the world of country music is her whimsical playfulness and tongue-in-cheek flamboyance.
When Musgraves burst onto the scene with her album Same Trailer, Different Park, she married a country tone with progressive lyrics, unafraid to delve into topics such as recreational drug use and casual encounters.
As Musgraves embarks on her Deeper Wells World Tour, she continues to redefine the boundaries of country music as an unapologetic trailblazer.

“I'm excited for the finale to air. There are a lot of theories out there and it's been interesting to hear and read what people think the end of the show will be or how it all comes together. I was excited to know myself. Being part of Succession was incredible.

Berlinale Series head Julia Fidel reflects on this year’s selection.
Back in 2015, Berlin became the first A list festival to launch a strand for high-end TV shows, acknowledging changing viewing patterns and the growth of long-form storytelling.
A festival within a festival, Berlinale Series has since become a microcosm of the competitive world of high-end TV shows, where key trends shaping the sector can be observed.
This year’s eight-strong selection, for example, has a raft of streamer titles jostling for attention – from HBO Max’s Cold War thriller Spy/Master to Disney Plus’s mafia tale The Good Mothers,...

A spin-off of High Maintenance, starring Yael Stone, and a comedic crime series from Jungle Entertainment are among the 21 projects that will share in more than $600,000 in story development funding from Screen Australia.
The slate includes 14 feature films, six television dramas and an online project, with 11 titles supported through the Generate Fund and 10 through the Premium Fund.
Screen Australia’s head of development Nerida Moore, who will depart the agency in December after nine years, said she felt privileged to support more many creative projects and people during the time she has left in the role.
“This is an exciting mix of projects and it’s great to support creatives expand on their careers and take on new challenges, including producer Alex White working on her first TV series, and writer Arka Das and writer/director Hannah Hilliard on their debut feature films,” he said.

Death has never been an obstacle that major franchises have failed to overcome when there’s money to be made, but as a series that was built on big ideas, albeit ones that weren’t always pulled off successfully, fans will be expecting The Matrix 4 to deliver a solid explanation as to why Keanu Reeves’ Neo has returned from the dead nearly 20 years after he made the ultimate sacrifice to win the war against the machines in Revolutions.
A handful of cast members from the original trilogy will be returning, but as the leading man and focus of the overarching narrative, it’ll be Neo’s resurrection that drives the plot in whatever direction it ends up heading, with Reeves being vague about the film so far and only confirming that The Matrix 4 will be a beautiful love story set after the events of the first three installments.

Audiences had never seen anything like The Matrix before when it first hit theaters in 1999, and while the Wachowskis had drawn their inspiration from all corners of culture and theology, they put a unique twist on some familiar tropes to deliver one of the most influential blockbusters ever made, loaded with jaw-dropping action and cutting edge visual effects.
Of course, by the time back-to-back sequels Reloaded and Revolutions arrived in 2003, we’d already witnessed a thousand pale imitators that had seen the groundbreaking elements of the first installment reduced to parody, with bullet time an almost ubiquitous presence in the action genre, while the overwhelming majority of characters sported the leather and sunglasses combination that had made Neo, Trinity and Morpheus look so effortlessly cool.
The decision to have all of the major players in The Matrix wear shades was largely believed to be little more than an aesthetic one,...

A History of Violins: Hoss at a Loss in Weisse’s Careful Character Study
Actor Ina Weisse returns to the director’s chair for the first time since 2008’s The Architect with a narrative equally entrenched in the career of its protagonist in The Audition. Riding high on a superb central performance from Nina Hoss (who gives an equally strong turn in the problematic Pelican Blood), Weisse returns to work with co-scribe Daphne Charizani to craft a stellar character study which plays like a carefully moderated musical arrangement, equal parts subtle drama and high anxiety. A portrait of obsessive alliances and psychological projections on the part of its heroine, whose championing of an introverted student awaken desires she’s been unwisely keeping at bay, Weisse spins her film into darker than expected territories favoring a character study which moves to primal depths in its significant silences.…

How to Get Away With Murder is keeping it in the family for season four. E! News has learned that Viola Davis' husband Julius Tennon will be making his way to the Shondland series as a guest star in the upcoming season, however details about his character and storyline are being kept under wraps for the time being. (This is a Shonda Rhimes production, after all.) That said, it's a pretty safe bet he'll be sharing the screen with his wife in some capacity. Tennon's appearance on Htgawm won't be the first time he's appeared alongside his wife on either stage or screen. They've appeared together in CBS' Laws of Chance, feature films The Architect, Lila & Eve and Custody, as well as...

2929 builds 'Architect' promo
NEW YORK -- In the first-ever promotion encouraging viewers to see day-and-date releases in theaters, 2929 Entertainment is offering a free film score, deleted scenes, online production notes and film stills to moviegoers who buy tickets to HDNet Films' The Architect on MovieTickets.com.
"This is the first of 10 or more (promotions) in the next 12 months that will include this type of value add," said Mark Cuban, co-owner of 2929 with Todd Wagner. "We will continue to look for additional digital products we can offer as a reward for those who watch the movie in a theater."
At the site, ticket buyers can download the score written and performed by Marcelo Zarvos (The Good Shepherd) via a package of MP3s. The deleted scenes on the site also will be featured on the film's DVD, coming to stores Dec. 1, the same day the film appears at 2929's Landmark Theatres in select cities.
Cuban would not reveal terms of the deal with the Web site, but said, "We have worked with them for a while, and they were very open to the deal."...
