If you haven't seen "The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down", you must check it out when it comes out in theaters!! This independent movie is hysterical and innovative. It's writing is fantastic. It was written and directed by Paul Sapiano.
Definitely a breath of fresh air at the movies, especially when it comes to comedies. The movie is a satire on Los Angeles nightlife and the hipsters in Cahuenga scene. Its ensemble cast is stellar, they create memorable characters that take you through the "dos" and "don'ts" of partying in LA. The movie is set up into chapters and like a guide is supported by some killer graphics. There are also a group of scientist that help us understand the scientific side of "getting down", why things really work the way they do.
If you like to party and want to learn from the best... how to get free drinks, get into clubs, buy drugs, get laid, then this is the flick for you! Have some beers and smoke and go enjoy this movie with friends! It will be in theaters March 23!

Remarkably entertaining and refreshing little comedy here. The cast of unknowns do a spot-on job of portraying their roles, the writer and director had something ... well, not new, but not overdone, and interesting to say, and, as other reviewers have said - this is true. I have known these people, and even been a few of them. There were very few laugh-out-loud moments - but there were an awful lot of delighted grin times here.
Your experience may be very much a matter of taste - I also thought _Romance and Cigarettes_ and _Go!_ were fun, couldn't make it through more than 30 minutes of _Click_, and have no interest in trying _Dumb and Dumber_, _Jackass_, or _Napoleon Dynamite_. If you need overblown to enjoy comedy, skip this one. If subtle, wry wit works for you - enjoy it.

Seriously, every college student/random young adult, planning on coming to party in South Beach ( or LA or NYC ) should view this film. It's a serious look at the party " do and don't " list.
Basic party manners and how to avoid the pitfalls of everyone not wanting you to come to the next party are contained.
View it with the same mind that had to sit through the stupid movies in traffic school. It's not meant to be anything but a guide. I don't think the characters were supposed to evolve. They set out with basic characters that the viewer could identify with ( at least one of them for each viewer ). They put them in a party situation and allowed each to stay in that environment with the aide of the guide.
If you're viewing hoping to get an academy award performance from a virtually unknown cast of party peeps in LA - you're out of luck. If you'd like to go and party like a rock-star, take notes. Nothing worse in a party than someone who has no class or party savvy.

This is a very unique film. It never takes itself too seriously yet it does divulge some honest and true information all the way through. It is filled with great humor and some mediocre acting, but overall, a very enjoyable movie. It starts rough, but once it gets to the first voice over after the first set of characters are introduced, it never stops being informafunny. You might learn a thing or two, or just laugh, either way, it should be enjoyable.
