Prior to that Zachariou was Deputy Head of Entertainment at ABC TV, where she developed iView comedy series Fresh Blood as well as.Canberra Al Desko with Annabel Crabb, and was the network Ep on Kitchen Cabinet with Annabel Crabb, Judith Lucy's Spiritual Journey, The Chaser's Media Circus, The Chaser.s War on Everything, Saturday Night Crack Up, Agony, The Checkout and At the Movies.
She replaces Mark Hamlyn, who has resigned to return to active production after four years in the post.

Local feature film Drown has cast Matt Levett in the lead role and has launched an online crowd-funding campaign.
The low-budget film, which will tackle themes of bullying and homophobia, aims to raise $100,000 in 65 days via Indiegogo.
Levett is currently working on upcoming Seven Network drama, A Place To Call Home, and has previously appeared in Winners & Losers, All Saints, Home and Away, Rescue Special Ops, Two Twisted and as a series regular on ABC.s third season of Bed of Roses.
He will play lead character Len in Drown, which follows three lifesavers on a big night out when jealousy, homophobic fears and unrequited lust culminate in a tragic booze-fueled episode of bullying.
Other roles will be cast shortly through Maura Fay Casting.
Drown is being directed by local filmmaker Dean Francis and is based on a play by Stephen Davis. Francis made his feature film debut with Road Train...

ABC’s new series The Straits has had a slow ratings start to its ten episode run.
Produced by Matchbox Pictures, producers of last year’s success The Slap, The Straits movie length premiere averaged 599,000, peaking at 696,000 viewers last night, according to preliminary ratings by Oztam.
Matchbox Pictures’ creative director Penny Chapman spoke to Encore in January: “It’s the violence and the black humour that is going to make this pretty special. I’ve not made a show like this – maybe blue murder but the Straits’ humour is quite enjoyable. Young men respond to it strongly. It’s a real blokes show. And for the ABC that’s great because young men don’t watch the ABC.”

ABC1′s new 10 hour drama, The Straits, produced by Matchbox Films’ Penny Chapman and Helen Panckhurst begins shooting today. Scottish actor Brian Cox (The Bourne Supremacy, Troy, Braveheart) joins the troupe of Australian actors assembling in Cairns and Torres Strait Islands.
The Montebello family are Far North Queensland’s Corleones, running drugs into Australia and guns and exotic animals out with ambitious bikies in Australia and Papau New Guinean raskols across the Strait also wanting a piece of the action. Cox plays Patriach Harry Montebello, with actress Rena Owen playing his part Torres Strait Island, part Maori wife, Kitty.
