Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor has found new creative territory as antagonist Danger Lanka in Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again,” marking a calculated departure from his traditional leading man roles.
The pic marks the fifth entry in Shetty’s popular cop universe. The franchise – initially based on Hari’s 2010 Tamil-language “Singam,” starring Suriya – kicked off with “Singham” (2011) and “Singham Returns” (2014), both centering on Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn), a straight-arrow Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dcp) from the Goa-Maharashtra border town of Shivgarh. “Simmba” (2018) shifted focus to Sangram “Simmba” Bhalerao (Ranveer Singh), a corrupt inspector from Singham’s hometown. The series expanded further with “Sooryavanshi” (2021), introducing Akshay Kumar as Dcp Veer Sooryavanshi.
“Singham Again” boasts an A-list ensemble including Devgn, Singh, Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jackie Shroff, Tiger Shroff and Kapoor.
Kapoor began his film industry journey behind the scenes, assisting in productions like “Kal Ho Naa Ho” (2003) and “Salaam-e-Ishq” (2007). He...

What’s Good: The zany goings-on, and the hilarious lines well-supported by visuals
What’s Bad: Some needless and bad songs
Loo Break: Only if you are scared!
Watch or Not?: Of course! This Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a-‘maze’-ing in many ways!
Language: Hindi

Runtime: 158 minutes
User Rating:
A con-man, Rooh Baba (Kartik Aaryan), earning his living as a ghost-buster is employed by Meera (Triptii Dimri) and her maternal uncle (Rajesh Sharma) to bust a myth in the haveli of a king. Anees Bazmi’s No Entry managed to do the near-impossible. It was a sex comedy without overt sex and vulgarity. The upmarket, high-profile star cast ensures a high-quality, cleaned-out satirical scenario freed of annoying innuendos. Nonetheless, the swiftly flowing slapstick replete with grossly overblown dollops of mistaken identity and other intensely corny contrivances takes the comedy this farce and no more.
Farcical comedies about infidelity are not alien to Hindi cinema. B.R. Chopra’s Pati Patni Aur Woh gave the late and great Sanjeev Kumar a chance to do the incorrigible flirtatious husband with a deadpan ingenuity that his successors have found hard to replicate. The men are constantly chasing the women, while their spouses are constantly chasing their skirt-chasing husbands. The confusions of infidelity are gross examples of political incorrectness.
Recalling the No Entry experience, Anees says, “No Entry got a lot of love. Everybody started saying that because of No Entry,...

How does one even begin to define the 2000s in Hindi cinema? The decade that started with “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai!” and ended with “3 Idiots?” The decade that gave us Bipasha Basu and Rakhi Sawant and took away Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai? The decade of “Tere Bina” but also of “No Entry?” Cinema contains multitudes, but the aughts in Bollywood were a multiverse, and nowhere is that clearer than in the best musical numbers of the decade.
Curating this list was not easy — just ask the editors who waited patiently for a draft that I was not able to produce because I was busy swapping out “Kal Ho Naa Ho” songs until the last possible second. Some basic guidelines: This is a list of musical numbers, Not songs — the song obviously matters,...

Wendy Morgan‘s animal welfare docu-drama “Mercy” has been picked up by Los Angeles-based distributor All Channel Films, Inc. All Channel Films will represent the film, which premiered at the Awareness Film Festival in October, in the U.S. and Canada across pay and basic cable, video/DVD, VOD/SVOD, PPV and other distribution platforms.
With humans standing in for animals, “Mercy” lifts the lid on the more unpalatable side of the meat industry as told though the eyes of a pig named Mercy as she goes from a factory farm to a slaughterhouse. Maria Austin (“The Reverend and Mrs. Simpson”) plays Mercy alongside Annette Badland (“Ted Lasso”), Mark Wingett (“Quadrophenia”) and Morgan (“Mrs. Lowry and Son”), who wrote and directed the film.
“One of my goals was to bring ‘Mercy’ to North American audiences to raise awareness about the film’s disturbing but important subject matter,” said Morgan.

From the mind of Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar comes Pagalpanti… a light- hearted comedy about madness at all levels. Whether it’s the 3 idiots at the centre of the story, the women who love them or their seemingly incompetent bosses, everyone in this film is taking a break from serious motifs to have a bit of fun and give audiences an all-around fun time. Anees Bazmee having had many successes with similar films such as No Entry and Mubarakan, has brought together quite the star cast for this purpose and similarly for the 5 short songs of this film has not failed to pull in some very talented music directors in Yo Yo Honey Singh, Tanishk Bagchi, Nyeem-Shabir and Sajid-Wajid.
Pagalpanti opens with a modern take on a perennial favourite from Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998), Tum Par Hum Hai Akte. Neha Kakkar and Mika Singh are an...

I always knew you could find some fun/weird stuff on Google Maps and Street View, but now you can find magical creatures and sorcerers! Both Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Doctor Strange have New York City locations and Google has revealed a special Easter egg for both. Marvel Comics has always pulled from real-world locales for their stories and the Sanctum Sanctorum, Dr. Stephen Strange's home, is one of them. We'll see it in the upcoming Marvel film, but Google (or Marvel, or both) decided to have a bit of fun and let us spot it on a map. Empire Magazine's Chris Hewitt apparently discovered it first, but you need to type "Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum" in order to get the actual name to pop up. Love this. Type 177a Bleecker Street into Google Maps and this shows up. (I think it's actually a grocery...

Credited with Bollywood’s popular laugh riots “No Entry” and “Welcome”, filmmaker Anees Bazmee says comedy is the toughest genre to work on for a writer, and when a movie is loaded with double entendres, it’s merely a “shorcut”.
Of late, the Hindi film industry has witnessed a surge in comedy entertainers, but a sex comedy laced with sexual innuendos seem to be the current favourite flavour. Bazmee is not all for it.
“There are some good comedy films even now, but comedy films which are double-meaning and are a shortcut. I don’t want to make them and I don’t want to watch them. I don’t want to even say whether they are good or bad… My personal choice is to work around buffoonery,” Bazmee told Ians in an interview.
The maker of movies like “Singh Is Kinng”, “Thank You”, “Ready” and “Welcome Back”, said he...

Earlier we had reported that Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor would soon be seen playing uncle and nephew respectively in Anees Bazmee's Mubaraka. However, now we hear that the two will if fact be at loggerheads with each other in the film. Apparently, Anil and Arjun will be seen as warring family members who are constantly trying to prank each other. This situation gets further riled when they are given accommodation opposite each other when attending a family wedding. The setting kick stars in Punjab where both Anil and Arjun are invited to attend a destination wedding in Europe and put up in houses facing each other, where their constant one-upmanship wreaks havoc with the wedding prep leading to much hilarity. Scheduled to go on floors in November, Mubraka is said to be a melange of The Big Fat Greek Wedding meets No Entry. Featuring ample amounts of romance,...
