    Rough, but shows potential

I saw this film at its Harrisburg premiere in 2004. It was a bit too long and had a lot of rough edges, but for a film with virtually no budget and no paid cast or crew, I think it showed some potential. Matt Lorenz was pretty decent in the main role, and his scenes with Nellie Barnett were some of the high points. Some of the other actors were pretty amateurish, though. I was surprised to hear it got into the New York IFP, considering it's low-budget aspects, but I'm glad because it shows a film festival FINALLY acknowledging films that are independent and not cheap Hollywood productions. It'll be interesting to see if the guys involved with this show up on the radar with something bigger in the future.

    • Trivia
The title "Atlanta" originated from a Stone Temple Pilot song of the same name. Though the song was used in early versions of the film, its scene was eventually cut.
    • Goofs
Nate's wardrobe in the film's finale changes from white to black depending on whether he's inside or outside (caused by filming outside scenes with infra-red lights).
