The Witcher star Freya Allan, Daisy Jones and the Six actor Josh Whitehouse, and Raff Law, who appears in the upcoming Apple mini-series Masters of the Air, are starring in Triton, a fantasy horror thriller from filmmaker Janell Shirtcliff.
Elsie Hewitt, who appeared in FX’s Dave, Thalia Besson, daughter of French filmmaker Luc Besson, and musician Malcolm McRae are also toplining the indie, which is now in production in Athens, Greece.
Brad Feinstein at Romulus Entertainment is producing and financing the equity project. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Range are producing alongside Adonis Tountas and Everlast Pictures.
Based off a story by Shirtcliff and Angie Simms, with Simms penning the script, the story centers on three young women who, while in a vacation in Greece, run afoul of three charismatic young men who prove to be much more than they seem.
Central Athens in Greece is producing the film locally in Athens.

The trailer has been released for "Avalanche Sharks," the latest of Syfy's ridiculous (ly awesome) monster movies starring ... well, mostly bad special effects. This latest one, however, takes the cake -- we have never actually heard of anyone starring in it, though we think Emily Addison is a porn star.
The premise of this gem seems to be crazy spring breakers are being terrorized by snow-swimming sharks. So it's like "Spring Break Shark Attack" on a mountain. Though considering the title, it seems like there's a serious lack of avalanches. But "Snow Sharks" probably didn't pack the same punch.
We have to say, this makes "Sharknado" look like a cinematic masterpiece. Also, without an actor from a favorite '90s teen drama or some kind of one-hit wonder singer or Eric Roberts, it just doesn't pack the same punch.
There is no broadcast date yet for "Avalanche Sharks" on Syfy,...

The beach movie has come a long way from the days of Frankie & Annette, Gidget and The Ghost in the Invisible Bikini.
On second thought, maybe it hasn't changed at all. They've always been about the same things: babes, beefcake, and trying to get laid without getting sand in your nether regions.
Of course, the beach films of yesteryear could only hint at it, but you knew that beneath the Aquanet and Brylcreem, those kids were waiting to sexually explode (in between having to dodge all those giant radioactive insects so prominent in that era).
The beach films of recent times don't have to hint at anything, and can be as blatantly sexual and nuded up as they want. And they don't have to tiptoe around the "love that dare not speak its name" either, although if you read between the lines of those 60's films, we were always there,...

NCAA tourney gives CBS ratings dunk Sunday
With a big lead-in assist from the NCAA basketball tournament, CBS took a bite out of the lighter Sunday primetime competition with its popcorn thriller Spring Break Shark Attack and 8 p.m. drama Cold Case. NBC had an interesting night with its second regular time-slot airing of The Contender, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. The boxing competition series started off with modest turnout in the 8 p.m. half-hour, with an average of 7 million viewers and 3.0 rating/7 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, but jumped to 8.7 million viewers and 4.0/10 in the second half-hour featuring the action in the ring. CBS appeared to narrowly win the night overall, though the eye network's lineup got off to a delayed start due to a roughly half-hour overrun (in East Coast markets) of its live college hoops coverage into the 7 p.m. start of primetime. Shark Attack averaged roughly 11.5 million viewers and 4.0 demo rating in the 9:30-11 p.m. period, according to rough estimates from CBS. (Reliable national estimates for CBS' primetime lineup, skewed by the live game coverage, won't be available until Tuesday.)...
