Sandip Ray did not disappoint us.

Especially after his father, the celebrated Satyajit Ray did the classic treats to Feluda in two films, Sandip Ray must have felt the surge of high expectations on this third Feluda project. The Feluda stories, penned by Ray Sr. himself, are still bestsellers among Bengali early-teen fiction. Sandip Ray sensed the screen potentials of this particular story well and evidently made this film with immense passion for his father's work.

Well, he may not have his father's rich artistic vision, nor could he be able to put enough wit and originality into the screenplay, but he certainly knows how to make a film entertaining. He changed the story subtly in some places and most notably, he was able to infiltrate more amounts of 'action' element into the story and that became certainly one of its plus points. On his side, he got Sabyasachi Chakravarthy who's probably a better Feluda than Soumitra Chatterjee whom Ray Sr. worked with. Sabyasachi's got more sharpness in his appearance as described in the stories. The other cast members also did a nice job except Bibhu Bhattacharya who is a pathetic choice for the role of Jatayu.

The fans of Feluda, as well as casual viewers, would certainly enjoy the film. I hope Sandip Ray would carry on with this standard for his next Feluda project that we're eagerly looking forward to.

Bomayier Bombete - such a disappointment

I did not expect it to be like Sonar Kella or Joy Baba Felunath, but had heard that this film was somewhat popular when it was released. It was such a big disappointment! There is nothing good in it; weak script, except Sabyasachi others are like 3rd graded TV actors (especially unbearable was the Lal Mohan Ganguly, played by Bibhu Bhattacharya); very ordinary direction with an utterly poor and cheap production. Long time back I had seen some TV series based on Satyajit Ray's short-stories made by Sandeep Ray. It was OK. So had thought it would be at least have some substance. But it has none. One should avoid this awful movie by any cost, specially if he/she had seen any other Feluda movie made by late Ray. It looks like a mediocre TV series at best. Actually I have found parts of 'Baksho Rohoshyo', someone uploaded in youtube, which looks much much better than this Bombaiyer Bombete. I am really surprised how a person who had the chance to witness a director like Sr. Ray from that close can make such a poor quality movie. Its a real crap.

Lovely to have Mr. Sandip Ray take up the Feluda series again

All kudos to Sandip Ray for taking up the Feluda project.. Any negative review comparing with the maestro Satyajit Ray would be inappropriate, think. Mr. Satyajit Ray was a different individual of enormous capacity and putting the son (Mr. Sandip Ray) to match against him is absolutely insane. That said.. the movie was highly welcomed by Feluda fans after so many years.. who were seeing their beloved Feluda on big screen after ages. Yes.. we cannot forget Lalmohan Ganguli from past.. but again.. that's the problem of comparison.. we compare with our own baselines not the realities. It was lovely to see Feluda wield a gun convincingly along with "Magajastro" (Brain - the weapon, the intellect) else it would have been not with the times. A enjoyable movie and for Feluda fans.. a thrilling experience. Thanks to Mr. Sandip Ray.. Many thanks. Always waiting for next .. and next ! It should not end!
