Re-broadcast it, please!

"Join In!" was a show which I loved as a kid, along with others like "Today's Special" and "Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show". But this show was unique in many ways--that the hosts pulled the audience in with their storytelling and songs. I sure miss Zack and his crazy inventions, Kia and her songs and stories all anew, and Jacob and his paintings; not to mention the wooden wizards Winston, Emelina and their dog Abra. I naturally wouldn't want new episodes to be made. Nothing can compare to the original, and there's ABSOLUTELY NO reason this show cannot be re-broadcast. TVO, PLEASE...play this show again! Kids today need it more than ever!

This was definitely quality kids' programming

I remember seeing many programs on TVO back when I was a kid, and enjoying most of them, "Join In!" being no exception. I would have only been around three years old when this show began, so I wouldn't remember back when it was first on too well, if at all (I don't even know if I ever saw it around then), but the show ran for six years, so I saw it a lot during its run, probably especially towards the end, including reruns of earlier episodes.

The three main characters were Nikki (who was eventually replaced by Kia), Jacob, and Zack. These three lived in a studio apartment together, and would work to plan stories to tell and plays to act out. Various types of trouble would often arise in the lives of the these three, and there was often a lesson to learn from it. There were also three wooden figures in the apartment, which were a wizard named Winston, a fairy godmother named Emelina, and their dog, Abra. The three humans in the apartment did not know that these wooden figures were alive! Winston was a real know-it-all who often underestimated the abilities of Abra.

"Join In!" was an educational program, as it could teach kids some very valuable lessons. It also featured a lot that made it entertaining for many of those in the audience it was aimed at. There were many stories told or acted out, as well as songs that were sung by the show's characters, and some humorous moments here and there. The living wooden figures also added to the amusement. All of this made the show a very high quality piece of kids' programming!

Unfortunately, "Join In!" doesn't appear to be widely available right now. I don't even know if there are any stations at all that currently play reruns of it, and I would say there's a good chance that there's not. Also, if you search for pages on the Internet that reference this show, you probably won't find many. The vast majority of your search results will have nothing to do with the show, I think I can guarantee you that! However, for those who watched the show in their childhood, it's something that you probably won't forget if you were really into it at the time!

Finally...

AHHH!!!

OK, my best friend and I have been looking for info on this show FOREVER because we loved it as kids. Apparently none of our other friends watched it. We were going to write in to like, TVO or the TV Guide people or something if we couldn't find anything about it. I wish we could still watch it...they had a grrreat apartment. We always try to remember stuff about the show, like the people's names, how the theme song went, what the episodes were about, etc. I remember Zack had sweet red Chuck Taylor High-tops. Made we want some too.

Put Join In! back on the air! Amazing I say.
