Bruce Brown, Robert August, and others take about the making of the two Endless Summer movies, with clips from the movies, unused clips from the movies, and a few clips from Brown's home movies.

There are plenty of 'making of' movies. Most are made to serve as trailers for the movie, to get people het up for the release. Others are made as home video extras, to amuse people who get obsessed with whatever film they're making. For those interested in film generally, it shows something of the process of making one.

This one satisfies the criteria for the second description. It also serves as a celebration of Brown.

Watch the first two ["The Endless Summer" (1966), directed by Bruce Brown and "The Endless Summer II" (1994), also directed by Bruce Brown] within a fairly short period of time (preferably during winter in a cold climate), then watch this one.

Lots of talking heads, but fascinating and very enjoyable. Many of the contributors are guys I'd like to meet.

As someone who remembers the '60s, it was interesting to hear about the vibe back then from several of the era's contributing players.

My only complaint was that the movie was too short. I could have watched it for another half-hour, at least.
