Fearless the Dog -- Can He Mix a Dry Martini?

Rodney Hildebrand is a new member of the Secret Service, trying to catch a fleet of rum runners. His cunning plan is to go to a fishing village and paint seascapes, while his dog, Fearless, finds the clues, tracks down the gang, captures their leader and introduces him to his future wife.

Movies have had dog stars at least since 1905's RESCUED BY ROVER. The success of Rin-Tin-Tin had kicked the genre into high gear. Comedy producer Joe Rock produced a dozen of these shorts starring Fearless, the Famous Police Dog Star. The Rin-Tin-Tin features were split between Rinty and the human cast, but these shorts focused on Fearless in a way that looks silly; given Mr. Rock's background, they are certainly tongue-in-cheek.
