For some people this film can be a good opportunity of knowing more about Camarón de la Isla, and it is true. But I do not believe that those people say that this film is great. And it is not.

It summarizes the life of this man, but one hour and average to see singing this man is a complete boredom. The film in itself is boring, at least does not entertain to all the one that sees it, not me, because I do not like the flamenco and I do not believe that in the future I would like it. The actor who plays Camarón, Óscar Jaenada, does it very very well. His actuation is amazing. All the other actors of the film make either their work very good (like the actor who plays Paco de Lucía,too) and they are very well characterized, except the actress who plays Camarón's wife, Verónica Sánchez. She is not very credible as La Chispa. She is the only actress of this movie that does not act very good. Of the others,the clothes and the make up are in favor very well.

In summary,see it if Camarón interests to you and if it does not interest to you,do not see it. I don't recommend it.

The movie is about the life of Camarón, probably the best flamenco singer ever: How he starts in music, acknowledgement by public and early death due to cancer. In fact he movie is quite boring, almost anything happens but the main character singing. At any moment the plot is interesting (unless you are Camarón's supporter) and many of the characters are totally empty: for example Veronica Sanchez play as Camaron's wife, or the character of Camaron's best friend, which though important, are not very well build. The only good thing is Óscar Jaenada, he proves that when he wants, can act very well (a Goya totally deserved). His acting is outstanding and it is by far, the only reason to watch these movie, that is perhaps, too long for the things to tell. There are many better films, and except by Jaenada, it has anything good.
