After an episode such as this, it's a severe disappointment that this is likely the first of the final ten episodes of Magnum P.I.
Most characters got their time in the sun on Magnum P.I. Season 5 Episode 11.
And it set up things splendidly for the final stretch, should that indeed be the case.
That begins with Thomas and Juliet. After all, they've been an intriguing couple during the first half of Magnum P.I. Season 5, ever since they stopped fighting their feelings for each other.
It was simple to tell something was amiss with Higgins when she was the one who showed up late for a client meeting. Usually, it's Thomas who gets distracted along the way.
Magnum got suspicious because this was out of character for her, and she was incredibly secretive. Juliet always has played things close to the vest. It's the ex-spy in her. But this was next-level caginess.

Warning: contains a preview of Batman: White Knight Presents: Generation Joker! The White Knight universe of DC Comics has given an unbelievable makeover to iconic characters such as Joker and Harley Quinn, taking their lives in shocking new directions. However, things are about to get even freakier, as Joker's kids begin a wild quest to revive their father.
The White Knight universe gives fascinating new takes on Gotham's heroes and villains, such as Joker suffering from a dual personality similar to Two-Face, and Batman becoming so consumed with his quest that he becomes a terrifying zealot. Writer Sean Murphy has used this surprising status quo to explore the characters in new and unique ways, which is precisely what readers got to see when Harley Quinn shot the Joker dead to protect her twin children from him. This was seen way back in Batman: Curse of the White Knight...

It ended with a scream, and a million questions, only one of which really matters: How could it have ended any other way?
The two-part finale of Twin Peaks' long-awaited third season/reboot/revival/"Return" marks the conclusion of the most elaborate bait-and-switch in television history. For 18 episodes, co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost deftly played on a quarter century of audience hopes, fears and great expectations created by the show's two original seasons, a prequel film and a host of fake dossiers and diaries. The San Sebastian Festival is almost here and three new competing titles have recently joined those previously announced for the Official Selection. Chinese director Liu Hao returns to San Sebastian with "Back to the North," five years after competing in the Official Selection with "Addicted to Love;" the Belgian moviemaker Joachim Lafosse will present his new film, "The White Knights;" and Peter Sollett will bring to the Festival the film "Freeheld," starring Julianne Moore, Ellen Page, Michael Shannon, Josh Charles and Steve Carrell.
For its part, the New Directors section closes with inclusion of the Swedish production, directed by Peter Grönlund, "Thieves Honor."
Official Selection
"The White Knight" Joachim Lafosse (Belgium - France)
Joachim Lafosse brings to the screen the Zoe’s Ark controversy which made headlines in 2007: a story about the limits of the right of interference. Jacques Arnault, head of Sud Secours Ngo, is planning a high impact operation: he and his team are going to exfiltrate 300 orphans victims of Chadian civil war and bring them to French adoption applicants. Françoise Dubois, a journalist, is invited to come along with them and handle the media coverage for this operation. Completely immersed in the brutal reality of a country at war, the Ngo members start losing their convictions and are faced with the limits of humanitarian intervention.
"Freeheld" Peter Sollett (U.S.A)
Julianne Moore, Ellen Page, Michael Shannon, Steve Carrell and Josh Charles star in this film based on true events. The true love story of Laurel Hester and Stacie Andree and their fight for justice. A decorated New Jersey police detective, Laurel is diagnosed with cancer and wants to leave her hard earned pension to her domestic partner, Stacie. However the county officials, Freeholders, conspire to prevent Laurel from doing this. Hard-nosed detective Dane Wells, and activist Steven Goldstein, unite in Laurel and Stacie’s defence, rallying police officers and ordinary citizens to support their struggle for equality.
"Back to the North" Liu Hao (China)
Xiao Ai is diagnosed with a terminal illness and does not have long to live. She is concerned that her parents will become a "lost family" and have no one to take care of them after her death, so she decides to persuade them to have another child... The latest film by Liu Hao, who competed at San Sebastian in 2010 with "Addicted to Love."
New Directors
"Thieves Honor" Peter Grönlund (Sweden)
An intense social drama about a woman's struggle for survival on the margins of society. When street pusher Minna can't pay her rent she cheats a few young criminals on a drug deal and takes the money. She happens to meet Katja, the mother of a child who has been taken from her by the social authorities.

Tim Wonnacott and his professional partner Natalie Lowe are the third couple to leave Strictly Come Dancing.
The Bargain Hunt expert and Lowe found themselves in the dance-off alongside Mark Wright and Karen Hauer.
The bottom two acts were decided through a combination of viewer votes and judges' scores.
Wonnacott and Lowe performed their paso doble to Tina Turner's 'Simply the Best', while Wright and Hauer danced a quickstep to 'Tiger Feet' by Mud.
Wright's quickstep originally earned him a score of 29 during yesterday's (October 18) show, while Wonnacott's performance got him a 19.
Judges Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell both took the decision to save Wright and Hauer, with Bruno Tonioli sealing their fate.
"The white knight won the challenge," Tonioli stated.
Wonnacott said: "It's a great treat to be on a programme like Strictly. For an old geezer like me - who comes along in his 64th year and he's slightly portly,...

Hulu is in talks with Sony about making Community season 6. Now, about that movie...
News
NBC called time on Community in this year's spate of renewals and cancellations, but as all good geek TV fans know, nothing's really dead until you've identified the corpse, set it alight and ground up the bones.
The white knight potentially charging in to rescue this particular sitcom from cancellation tower is Us streaming service Hulu. Deadline reports that Sony and Hulu are in talks about making a home for season six of Dan Harmon's campus comedy, taking the show halfway to achieving its fans' "six seasons and a movie" mantra.
Everything is very much in the preliminary stages at the moment with no guarantee of a deal, though both sides are reported to be willing. Even Dan Harmon, who had initially expressed reluctance to continue Community outside of NBC, has come around to the possibility with the words,...

We are at the end of an era. The very last episode of Breaking Bad played to the heartstrings of millions of fans Sunday night and gave many of true sense of satisfaction. Often times, the best TV series don’t run long enough before being cancelled and ones that do run past three seasons start to stink like a rotting corpse on Walking Dead. Whether you were a fan of Dexter, Seinfeld, Lost or The Sopranos, disappointment gets even the best of them–but not Breaking Bad. There was no ambiguity, no room for interpretation, no loose dangling threads twisting in the wind.

Remember The Neverending Story II? Or the dark and eerie Return to Oz? These “many years” later sequels often have entirely different aesthetic sensibilities than their predecessors. Then you have total saga reinventions like the Tin Man miniseries from a few years back. Both takes on the original fan-favorite have a place in their respective mythology’s timeline, though it’s important to note that in the case of both Wizard of Oz revivals, the target audiences weren’t there when the original, definitive film debuted.
Alice in Wonderland, however, has had numerous revivals over the last few decades. Along with the upcoming Disney owned, Tim Burton directed feature, there have been numerous takes on the classic tale recently, allowing for new audiences to digest it. I suppose it doesn’t hurt that Disney also put out the animated version all those years ago, keeping the story—albeit heavily sobered...

Tacoma - Who could imagine making a documentary about dolphins could lead to so much trouble. When director Louie Psihoyos exposed what the Japanese locals were doing to dolphins in Taiji, Japan in The Cove, he found himself a wanted man. This sea-side community celebrates their relationship with the dolphin. But there’s a darkside when they herd dolphins into a cove, sell the prized ones to aquariums for $150,000 each. The remaining dolphins are slaughtered and given to school kids as whale meat. He found himself wanted by the Japanese law for various charges including videotaping undercover police officers.
Certain folks have defended this slaughter as cultural dining. How dare Americans protest what the Japanese eat. The falsely labeled dolphin meat has toxic levels of mercury. Remember that this is the same Japan that will shut off imports of American agriculture and livestock with the rumor of something being amiss.

Quick, when I say the words “SyFy Original Movie,” what images immediately rush to mind? Hokey CGI effects? Laughable character motivation? Bafflingly obtuse plots and stories? Now imagine this heralded brand, responsible for such masterpieces as “Ice Spiders” and “S.S. Doomtrooper,” attempting to interpret one of the most beloved pieces of western fiction ever.
This is the mindset one must enter before attempting to understand Alice, the SyFy mini-series. In a nutshell, the story is essentially a third installment of the Alice in Wonderland saga, if Lewis Carroll were alive and writing today, preferred teleplays to novels, had abandoned Victorian-era satire for dystopic art direction, and was intent on destroying the franchise so badly that no one would ever again be able to continue it. For those who remembered last year’s Tin Man, this is the exact same thing, simply swapping out The Wizard of Oz for Alice’s...

Cinema is filled with multi-talented young actors who bring to life all types of characters. Sometimes, a role is given to the wrong guy - just because he has the looks (pin-up pretty, looks awesome wearing trunks) and the connection (a powerful talent agent at his side). But when the role is given to the right guy - moviegoers get to witness something unique, memorable and powerful, even magical. Anyway, even the 'right guy' needs an agent, of course...

- - - Underrated versus Overrated: If you've watched Jumper, then you'll notice the difference between Jamie Bell and Hayden Christensen - Bell has undeniable screen presence, I can't say the same with Hayden. It could have been different if Tom Sturridge was retained to play Hayden's part. Anyway, who am I to argue? Christensen has more box office appeal than the relatively unknown Sturridge, but acting-wise?
