Who Plays Luke In The Percy Jackson Movies & TV Show?
Image
Is it possible for a franchise to be both underrated and wildly beloved? When it comes to literature for kids and middle grade readers, the answer is a clear "yes." A few massive pop cultural flashpoints aside, modern kid lit seems to be full of super-popular titles that earn millions of young fans but barely register on the radar of adults. Rick Riordan's "Camp Half-Blood Chronicles" appears to be one of these. The books, which center on the sassy son of Poseidon, Percy Jackson, and the friends and rivals he meets at a camp for demigods, have more than 180 million copies in print, according to Disney. However, if you're over the age of 35, you may not have heard of them -- until about a year ago.

In December 2023, Disney+ debuted the first season of "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," a buzzed-about adaptation of Riordan's book "The Lightning Thief" that...

10 Best Ice Skating Movies
Image
Ice skating movies capture the excitement and artistry of the sport, appealing to both sports fans and non-sports fans alike. Ice skating movies perform well at the box office, prompting Hollywood to continue making them, including movies aimed at young audiences. Ice skating movies range from dramatic biopics to absurd comedies, showcasing the diversity of the genre and its ability to entertain and inspire.

Though they aren't as common as other sports films, the best ice skating movies capture the majesty and glory of ice-based competition. Ice skating has been around for thousands of years, and yet in most countries, it's a niche sport that only gains notoriety every four years when the Winter Olympic Games bring the world together. However, for those who practice the sport, ice skating is exciting, dangerous, competitive, and artistic, which is why it has lent itself to the world of cinema so naturally.

Uwe Boll’s Rampage Isn’t Based On The Arcade Game. Go Figure.
When a friend sent me a link to the trailer for Uwe Boll’s upcoming action flick “Rampage,” I was totally expecting to see a giant werewolf, an enormous gorilla, and a huge lizard savagely destroying several large cities across the United States. What I didn’t expect was a quasi-serious motion picture devoted to an angry, 20-something loser who decides to go on a trigger-happy killing spree. As far as I can tell from the trailer featured below, that’s all the film is about. Uwe Boll, in his infinite cinematic wisdom, has decided that explosions, wanton violence, and a high body count are more important that plotting or characterization. It’s kind of like “Postal,” except it’s dead serious and doesn’t feature Dave Foley’s naked dong. Even the IMDb synopsis is pretty thin. Take a look: A man with a thirst for revenge builds a...
