Sarah Michelle Gellar's character, Joanna, is a traveling transportation company saleswoman who goes to companies and convinces them to use her company's trucking. She keeps having visions of a town she's never seen before, and she has inherited the memories of a woman who was murdered. She tries to solve the mystery and sets the woman's soul free.

That really wouldn't have made sense because he is around the same age as Joanna, so he would have been around 10 to 15 years old when the murder took place. His purpose in the film was the scene where Terry saved Joanna from Kurt harassing her. That gave Joanna a reason to speak with Terry. Kurt's obsession with Joanna is also symbolism, parallelism, and foreshadowing of Griff's obsession with Annie.

Annie died and went into Joanna's body, and Annie died by being brutally stabbed by the murderer in the film. So Annie would make Joanna feel again and again what she felt right before she died.

Their is still not a 100% clear answer out there, but it has been said that possibly the headlights you see are from another car, not Joanna's. And in some way Annie completely took over her body and moved her out of the path of the oncoming car so that she wouldn't get hit and placed her in the field out of harms way and thats where she woke up. This because the whole point of the film is for Annie to find her way back to Terry to let him know the truth, so if Joanna died at this point it would put an end to Annie's mission.

He doesn't actually stalk Joanna until the end after they see her sneaking around the car where he hid the knife. Scenes like when he breaks into her hotel, never happened. That's why when the hotel manager went to investigate she didn't find anyone. They were just Annie's memories coming out in Joanna.

The murderer hid the knife in the car before it ended up in the junkyard. The murdered woman, Annie, did see where he hid the knife. It was one of the last things she saw. When Joanna saw the vision in the barn, she saw through the eyes of the murdered woman and where the murderer hid the knife. When she saw the same car in the junk yard she recognized it from her vision.

Terry didn't know it belonged to the murderer. He thought it was something his wife had given him before she died.

It is never quite clear, but it is assumed yes because he had harassed her earlier in the film.

That was Joanna as a little girl. She kept seeing her younger self in visions. The younger version of her was talking about that man who killed Annie and was now after her.

The seahorses were something Annie really enjoyed and felt a comfort in. Joanna only likes seahorses because she felt Annie's love for them. This is clearly stated when Joanna said she drew a picture of what Annie painted when she was a young girl.

When Annie died her soul entered Joanna's body, and they coexisted within it. Joanna had her memories because Annie was a part of her now. Annie's soul could not be free until she had avenged what had been done to her. And when that happened it was freed, and Joanna was all that was left.

After giving Terry the earring, Annie says, "I'll find you again."
