Erden Kiral makes a film about Yilmaz Guney.

Erden Kiral holds an important place in the history of Turkish cinema. Some of his outstanding films include The Blue Exile,A Season in Hakkari and Mirror.Yolda is a perfect film for all those for whom Turkish cinema,Yilmaz Guney and Erden Kiral matter a lot.By making Yolda,Erden Kiral has paid his tributes to one of the greatest cinema artists of Turkish cinema:Yilmaz Guney. His film is about a few days which were spent by him in the company of Yilmaz Guney. The theme of this film is simple.Any artist must not be considered a people's artist unless he/she is not able to command absolute respect from common folks. In one of the most memorable scenes of this film Erden Kiral shows the ecstasy and joys on the faces of ordinary people attending a marriage function when they get a chance to meet Yilmaz Guney at an obscure motel.Films about great personalities are not always free of glitches.Yolda has few week spots too.Its biggest problem is that it is neither a biography nor it appears as a film supporting Yilmaz Guney's fight against Turkish authorities.
