After industry all time blockbuster Okkadu, producer MS.Raju still not coming out of the movie's influence, decided to okkadu part 2 and did Varsham. Most of the scenes, screenplay are similar to okkadu. Songs and technical values are tip notch , Gopichand is the main attraction of the movie.

Varsam is not that special in terms of its storyline. However, what makes this film special is its casting. The three leads - Prabhash, Trisha and Gopichand gave their career-best performance in this not-so-perfect drama. Everyone played their character organically good. The dance song in the rain marked a significant milestone in commercial film. A pure filmy romance. Gopichand impressed me the most. His body language and acting in a negative role made this drama worth watching. It showed conventional formula film and elements of mainstream film yet so vibrant just because of these three talented actors. I hope in future someone wise will cast them three in a beautiful film.
