Nina Lederman, most recently president of Joe Roth Television, has been named senior vp series programming and development at Lifetime Networks, overseeing the development of all scripted fare.
Lederman had been president of Roth's company since 2005. She is one of the executive producers of "Maid in Manhattan," a one-hour put pilot at ABC from Sony Pictures TV and Joe Roth TV that is based on the movie of the same name.
Before joining Roth's company, Lederman had been Tony Krantz's producing partner at Flame Television, where she had a hand in such series as Upn's "South Beach" and "The Bad Girl's Guide," starring Jenny McCarthy.
She also held positions at Michael Ovitz's Artists Television Group and NBC Studios, playing a role in the development of such series as "Will & Grace," "Access Hollywood," "Grosse Point," "The Street" and "The Ellen Show."

UPN's 'Chaotic' ratings lowest yet
Even with only reruns to compete with, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline cannot draw a crowd for UPN. Britney & Kevin: Chaotic fell to its lowest ratings yet in its third outing for UPN on Tuesday. Chaotic averaged 2.5 million viewers and 1.1 rating/3 share in the key adults 18-49 demographic. That marked a drop of a half-million viewers from last week. At 9:30 p.m., the news didn't get any better for sitcom The Bad Girl's Guide, which also fell from its inauspicious debut last week to an average of 1.5 million viewers and 0.6/2 in the demo.

'Idol' knocks out all comers
On the penultimate night of the 2004-05 television season, Fox's American Idol topped the chart again Tuesday in the first half of its two-part finale. Meanwhile, NBC's The Contender went out swinging, if not with huge Nielsen numbers, with a two-hour live telecast that crowned Sergio Mora, a 24-year-old middleweight from East Los Angeles, as the heavyweight of the boxing reality series. ABC's Trump Unauthorized biopic flopped as did the debut of UPN's new Jenny McCarthy sitcom, The Bad Girl's Guide. Given the competition, CBS did decent numbers with its two-hour special Rob and Amber Get Married, featuring the nuptials of the former contestants from CBS' Survivor and The Amazing Race.
