This concert is one of the all-time great musical performances of the modern era. The MSO is incredible with Steinman's already great music and this was before Meat Loaf had lost his touch. The main band is excellent at Patti Russo's accompaniment is second to none. This is a family favourite and is definitely the best concert I've seen live or on DVD.

Meatloaf with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is a definite top shelf rock music DVD. The big man belts out the classics and proves yet again that he doesn't just do music - he IS music.. and it comes from every pore as he delivers all the best hits from 30 years of rocking. Its obvious from this DVD that its the audience, not Meatloaf, who is in danger of not keeping up.
The Neverland Express is at full pace with Paul, Randy, and Kasim working like hyena's on the guitars while Mark lights up everything with keys on it. C.C. keeps the band (and the choirboys) hot while Patti Russo partners the big man with splendid animation and spectacular voice.
Keith Levinsen leads the orchestra which fills out the already big tracks,. Watch for the best brown-eyed girl you ever saw playing a cello, and check out the percussionist guy who gets a solid workout to Steinmans music.
I attended the Melbourne concert and am well qualified to say that this DVD is an essential keepsake for everyone who went and compulsory viewing for all those who couldn't make it on the night.
Sit close to the screen and play it loud for best results !

This is an absolutely outstanding DVD, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra complements Meat's unique and powerful voice perfectly. The interaction between Meat and the band and the audience is quite humorous. Also Meat's interaction with the conductor Keith Levenson shows his sense of humour. Meat puts everything into it like he does every performance. The passion and emotion he gives every song is breathtaking. For Crying Out Loud especially sent a shiver down my spine, he sang it so beautifully. Testify with the Australian Boys Choir is absolutely brilliantly done. But overall every song is delivered with such intensity he really puts his heart and soul into it. Patti's voice really complements Meats especially on Paradise by the Dashboard Light and Anything for Love. The whole NLE band is just great. While I couldn't be at the actual concert, this is definitely the next best thing. Carole
