In one mission where the Wardogs squadron attempt to rescue POW's from a Yuktobanian camp, Osean Air Defense Force pilot Captain Kei "Edge" Nagase gets shot down by a SAM. One rescue helicopter involved in the mission attempted to retrieve her, but it crashed through the snowstorm. Nagase's ordeal is possibly influenced by the central plot of the movie.
