If she gets in for both the A24 film “Babygirl” and the Netflix miniseries “The Perfect Couple,” that would put her at 21 career citations and set the record for having the second-most noms for an actor. What is a true crime series without truly outrageous casting?

On the heels of Chloë Sevigny and Javier Bardem portraying Mary Louise “Kitty” and José Menendez in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming “Monsters” installment, “The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” IndieWire can confirm that Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen are taking on another devastating ’90s story: The death of JonBenét Ramsey.

McCarthy and Owen will star as Patsy and John Bennett Ramsey, the parents of the six-year-old beauty queen tot who was found murdered in the basement of her family’s home. JonBenét was reported missing only hours before her body was found in 1996. The killer was never caught.

Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen are set to lead a limited series on the JonBenét Ramsey case at Paramount+, Variety has learned.

The show was first reported to be in the works back in March, but it had not landed at Paramount+ at that time. McCarthy and Owen will star as JonBenét’s parents, Patsy and John Bennett Ramsey.

American Film Institute (AFI has rescheduled the strike-postponed 49th AFI Life Achievement Award gala tribute celebrating Nicole Kidman for April 27 2024 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The event was originally scheduled for this year before it was held back amid the SAG-AFTRA work stoppage. The air dates for the special on TNT and Turner Classic Movies will be announced at a later date.

Exclusive: Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta books have completed their long journey to the screen with a blockbuster TV series starring Oscar winner Nicole Kidman in the title role and Oscar nominee Jamie Lee Curtis as the famous forensic pathologist’s sister Dorothy, I have learned. Kidman is executive producing through Blossom Films and Curtis through Comet Pictures the drama, from writer-showrunner Liz Sarnoff (Barry) and Blumhouse Television, which I hear is nearing a two-season straight-to-series order at Prime Video. A rep for the streamer declined comment as deals for the project, to be produced by Amazon Studios and Blumhouse, are still being finalized. It is expected to receive an order for two eight-episode seasons, sources said.

HBO goes back in time with Hemingway & Gellhorn, about the lives of writer Ernest Hemingway and journalist Martha Gellhorn. Director Philip Kaufman revealed to The Hollywood Reporter how he got involved with the project starring Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman. "Somebody presented me with a very long screenplay [by] Barbara Turner [and Jerry Stahl], which I came to think had some potential," Kaufman says. "We spent about eight years, producer Peter Kaufman and I, trying to develop this project eventually." Cannes announced its complete line-up for the 2012 festival. As previously reported, Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom will open the festival, which runs from May 16-27. Other films in contention for the prestigious Palme d’Or include David Cronenberg’s ultra-violent Cosmopolis, Brad Pitt’s upcoming Killing Them Softly, Lee Daniels’ Precious follow-up The Paperboy, John Hillcoat’s Lawless, Eva Mendes starrer Holy Motors, and films from Abbas Kiarostami, Ken Loach, Michael Haneke, Alain Resnais, and Walter Salles.

Last month HBO dropped a 5-minute trailer for their upcoming film "Hemingway & Gellhorn" starring Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman as the titular Ernest Hemingway and Martha Gellhorn, respectively. For anyone who thinks 5 minutes is too long for a trailer, or for those who simply couldn't be bothered sitting through it all, HBO have offered us a new look at the film in a handy bite-sized edition - this trailer coming in at just under a minute.

There's nothing particularly new or eye-catching on show here until right at the end of the trailer, and then comes a new and vital piece of information about the film - the air date. Philip Kaufman's ("The Unbearable Lightness of Being") film will premiere on HBO on Monday, May 28, and as far as we can tell from what we've seen so far, we've got some fantastic visuals and performances to look forward to.

With lensing now underway on "Hemingway & Gellhorn," the HBO film starring Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen, the rest of the cast has been rounded up and it's pretty intriguing and interesting array of names. Deadline reports that David Strathairn, Parker Posey, Rodrigo Santoro, Molly Parker, Lars Ulrich (yes, that Lars Ulrich), Santiago Cabrera ("Heroes"), Peter Coyote, Saverio Guerra ("Becker"), Diane Baker and Tony Shalhoub have all joined the production. Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman will play Ernest Hemingway and Martha Gellhor, respectively, in an HBO movie produced by James Gandolfini.

'Hemingway & Gellhorn' is Gandolfini's passion project. According to Deadline, the 'Sopranos' actor was first attached to star in the film when it was originally pitched as a theatrical feature. He later brought the movie to his old home of HBO under his Attaboy Productions banner.

Filming is set to begin next year in Northern California.
