Graffiti Rock (1984)

Trivia

Graffiti Rock

Edit
This was a pilot for a dance show that was supposed to be a hip-hop version of Bandstand (1952) or Soul Train (1971). The show was not picked up but the pilot aired in syndication in 88 cities in the US.
Michael Holman originally wanted Fab 5 Freddy or Mr. Magic to host the show but neither were available. So Holman hosted it himself.
Holman was the manager of the New York City Breakers. But the Breakers almost refused to perform when a SAG representative told them that they should not perform unless they were paid more money. Holman convinced them to perform for the little money that he could afford to pay them.
Kool Moe Dee and Kevin Keaton were in the group The Treacherous Three along with Lamar Hill. According to Hill, he stole Kool Moe Dee's money and spent it on drugs. Kool Moe was so disappointed that he did not allow Hill to be on the show.
Michael Holman and Vincent Gallo were bandmates in a group called Gray along with Jean Michel Basquiat.
