Oscar-winner Adrien Brody will make his London theater debut in The Fear of 13, opening in October.

The Pianist star will play Nick Yarris, who spent 22 years on death row before his exoneration, at the 251-seat Donmar Warehouse in Covent Garden. The Fear of 13 is based on a 2015 documentary by filmmaker David Sington and has been adapted for the stage by Lindsey Ferrentino.

Brody will perform the true story of Yarris, a Pennsylvania native who was wrongly convicted of the murder, rape and abduction of Linda Mae Craig, a shop assistant, in 1982. A DNA test later proved his innocence, and Yarris was released in 2004.

“I love the theater and although I have not been on the stage in many years I have been searching for the right material and this was so clearly the one,” Brody told The Guardian. “This is a story steeped in truth, that exposes systematic injustice and apathy through hope and humanity.

90 Day: The Last Resort fans, get ready because the cast for Season 2 of the popular spinoff has been announced.

Rebooted franchises reek of cheap Hollywood cash grabs, but in light of those expectations, the refurbished “Planet of the Apes” franchise pulls off a minor miracle. The halls are starting to hum softly here in Berlin as the European Film Market swings into gear. The first deals were announced yesterday before the event officially opened, with The Weinstein Co notably boarding Im Global’s The Man Who Made It Snow. This morning, FilmNation unveiled a series of offshore output deals for titles from Open Road, which will kick off with the Jamie Foxx/Michelle Monaghan-starrer Sleepless Nights.

Though it’s not likely to be a frenzy, and with currency concerns in the market internationally, Berlin should see more action in the coming days. Distributors are looking for product for 2016 and beyond, and some memorable buys have emerged here in recent years. In 2014, The Weinstein Company made a record-setting $7M deal for The Imitation Game which has now made about $140M worldwide and has an armful of Oscar nominations to boot.

For many movie and television fans, the SAG Awards trophy is the one that really counts, and on Sunday (January 25) the Screen Actors Guild handed out a slew of hardware to some very deserving recipients.

If you're betting on "Boyhood" to win big at the upcoming Academy Awards, think again! Richard Linklater's "Boyhood" was deemed to be the big Oscar frontrunner but a double-dose of guild awards over the weekend tamed those prospects down. First, the Producers Guild of America gave their top honor to Alejandro González Iñárritu's "Birdman," and the Screen Actors Guild followed suit!

Two films forgotten by the Academy, the animated adventure "The Lego Movie" and the Roger Ebert Documentary "Life Itself," triumphed at the recently concluded 2015 Producers Guild Awards.

"The Lego Movie" took home the Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures for producer Dan Lin while "Life Itself" won the Award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Theatrical Motion Pictures for producers Garrett Basch, Steve James, and Zak Piper.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) presented the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday. The awards show was hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for a third year, and George Clooney was presented with the Cecil B. DeMille Award. "Boyhood" ended up taking home the trophy for the best film in the drama category. The movie also won for best supporting actress (Patricia Arquette) and best director (Richard Linklater). On the comedy/musical side, "The Grand Budapest Hotel" won the top prize, beating "Birdman," which many thought would be the winner. "The Grand Budapest Hotel" didn't win in any other categories. Big night for Boyhood as it adds a Best Picture (Drama) win to its precursor repertoire at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards not to mention a win for Best Director (Richard Linklater) and Best Supporting Actress (Patricia Arquette). The Globes also pretty much paved the way for a Julianne Moore (Still Alice) win at the Oscars along with the inevitable Supporting Actor win for J.K. Simmons (Whiplash and Michael Keaton (Birdman) for Best Actor. There were, however, some interesting kinks in the road. Movies made by women directors were snubbed by the Producers Guild of America when they announced the nominees today! Both "Selma" by Ava DuVernay and "Unbroken" by Angelina Jolie were left in the dust. I agree with not nominating the latter movie (sorry Ms. Jolie but "Unbroken" is too earnest for my taste) but "Selma" deserved a nod! It's a profound movie aided by DuVernay's skilled directing and David Oyelowo's fine performance as Martin Luther King Jr.

You know who I'm blaming for this? Paramount! The studio did not send screeners to Academy voters. Heck, they did not sent one to us, the Broadcast Film Critics Association. But after begging, they did send a link so I could watch "Selma" in time for our Critics' Choice Movie Award nominations.
