I got to see this movie at the South Bend Film Festival just this past weekend. Wow! I didn't read the blurb in the festival guide about this being a comedy and was shocked that everyone was laughing hysterically at what seemed to be a gruesome tragedy. A couple minutes into the movie and I couldn't stop laughing. I don't really think I've seen anything quite like it. The movie was probably the perfect length and the joke didn't get old. I felt a little guilty about laughing so hard when the subject matter was so dark, but damn, it was funny. I was still laughing about it a few minutes into the next feature. Good Job, Mr. Bryant.

I caught this gem of a film at Sundance and enjoyed it tremendously! The less you know about this film going in, the more you'll enjoy it. Just bear in mind, though, that it's not for the queasy and definitely not for the faint of heart due to some very graphic imagery. However, the payoff is well worth the ride, especially if your sense of humor is like mine - a little dark and twisted.
Know that the director has a very specific message, which may not be apparent until the end of the film, so try not to quit half-way through. From the opening titles to the end credits, this movie is brilliant. Solid performances abound and the music sets the tone perfectly. Make sure you watch everything.

Just saw this film at the Sundance Film Festival. I have no idea how it made it all the way to Sundance given the professionalism of the films it was shown with and the... uh... lack of professionalism of itself, but it was definitely hilarious. It had a nice lesson at the end, too. Just remember while watching it that the story IS going somewhere, and it's not just random ridiculous chaos. The creator of this film said that his inspiration came from his brother, who in fact, gave him the entire script of the movie. Bryant felt that it was the worst idea he had ever heard, so he decided to make it. If you're looking for a serious film, this is not the one for you. If you're looking for entertainment - kill bill style - definitely worth watchin.

Mr. Bryant you are an idiot savant. This film proves that mildly retarded filmmakers really do have a unique voice that need to be expressed. I salute you and your quest to educate the public of you and your people's cause. The rest of the world must take the plight of the mongoloid cineaste seriously, and I am glad that you had the strength and courage to produce such a groundbreaking short film. I enjoyed it immensely. Please don't take to heart the negative comments found here. The short bus awaits you, and I am sure you will take the wheel and drive all over the road, hitting old ladies and pedestrians on your way to salvation and the local ice cream shop.
Despite all the other reviews that have scored this with a 10, I really don't think the short film is as great as this might indicate. I really wonder if maybe the final message at the end of the film is something the other reviewers advocate and this perhaps colors their views a bit. Especially since I have seen other shorts with similar themes that were better--making their message in a more effective and less muddled way. I really think in OH MY GOD the message seems almost tacked on--and the first portion of the film didn't really connect and was way too comical for the deadly serious ending. This just didn't seem appropriate.
Now whether or not you like this film also may depend on how funny you think gore is in films. There is a lot of blood--an amazing amount. This actually didn't bother me that much, but after a while hearing the actor say "Oh my god" again and again and again (that's almost all he said in the film) just got old.
Overall, an interesting topic that was muddled by a dark and bloody comedic first 90% of the film. Interesting but not great.
