This show is awesome lunacy at its finest. It takes traditional urban legends and then gives them a funny Irish twist. Podge And Rodge make a hilarious and filthy minded duo. This is a classic that will never age.
Brilliant madness that never gets old. I will always enjoy watching this ludicrousness.
Podge and Rodge were created and voiced by Ciaran Morrison and Mick O'Hara. They also wrote and voiced Zig & Zag and Teddy T and Bronx Bunny from the Bronx Bunny show.
Podge originally appeared on The Den, as a decidedly evil little character. At first, he was introduced as nothing more than a puppet Zag (of Zig and Zag) had found in a box amongst the rubbish behind a magic shop, and used him to practice ventriloquism.
The duo's increasingly regular use of profane language and sexual innuendo made them unsuitable for a children's television show (one particular line occurring at approx. 4 p.m the utterance of "Dustin smells like sh*t", which Dustin covered quickly with "I'm not wearing a hat!"), so, they were moved to a close to midnight slot, in the program, A Scare at Bedtime.

Podge and Rodge - 'A Scare at Bedtime' is one of the funniest shows to have emerged from Ireland in the past ten years. Exploding on to T.V. channels in 1997, the show chronicles two brothers, (Podge, the pipe smoking, elegantly dressed one - & Rodge, the short ugly pervert) who live in a huge mansion which was formerly an asylum in the fictional town of Ballydung.
Each night Rodge comes home, tells Podge what he did that day and then Podge proceeds to tell Rodge a 'scary' horror story, usually involving crazy and unbelievable set-ups. For anyone not in the know, Podge and Rodge are puppets, controlled and voiced by the same voice-artists who created the Bronx Bunny Show.
I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get a huge amount of laughs out of an eight minute show.
