Amor en concreto (2004)

Review by Hunky Stud

Amor en concreto

8/10

An art movie which is very watchable.

I checked out this DVD from a local library. I am surprised that not many people have seen this movie, and there is only one comment so far.

This movie reminds me of the movie "Crash", it has a similar concept. The acting are very solid, they all performed well. The picture quality is a little blurry, especially at night time, you can't see a lot of details. It could be due to the low quality film that they used. The transition among all three parts were smooth, the different characters interacted each other, and the views also changed smoothly.

This film has the art house film taste, but it is not boring at all. It is very watchable. I have never watched any movies or TV shows from Venezuela before. Some of the scenes may not make sense, that could be due to the cultural difference. Actor Erich Wildpret was the best, his role as a transgender male was very believable. Later in the movie, he transformed into a real man in order to avoid the police. His manner and voice all changed.

It is always fun to watch a foreign movie in which different environment, cities, people's lives are exposed. After all, love is always the same wherever you go.
