Still, Heihachi's return is a dramatic step in making Tekken 8 the ultimate version of itself.

Tekken 8 spoiled fans with incredible visuals, tight gameplay, and a flurry of different game modes to thoroughly entertain players of all skill levels. With accessible training and thrilling storylines for even newcomers to enjoy, there hasn't been a better time to try the Tekken series than with the latest installment of the game. The developer seems more than prepared to celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary, which wouldn't have felt right without Heihachi in the newest game.

Riot Games’ upcoming fighter, 2Xko, is the latest attempt to balance these frustrations.

This past weekend was the annual Evo fighting game tournament in Las Vegas. Beginning in 1996, Evo is one of the premier events where players from across the world get to show off their skills in various fighting games such as Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, The King of Fighters, and Super Smash Bros.

Aside from the different tournaments, many developers of these games like to make announcements. Be it an upcoming online update, the reveal of a new character, or even a new game, we also get to hear from the developers themselves on some of their potential future plans.

One of those people was Shuhei Matsumoto, a producer at Capcom who is attached to the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom collection that was announced this past June and is set to release later this year. Since the collection’s announcement, fans have speculated what it could mean for a possible new game in the series.

This past weekend, Evo 2024 took place, and all kinds of fighting-genre video games revealed new developments. Bandai Namco used the occasion to unveil a new character that will be available as Dlc in Tekken 8.

Heihachi Mishima, a legendary and iconic character in this franchise, joins the roster of fighters. This event featured many new announcements across various games that took advantage of the platform to showcase what’s coming. This particular warrior will be available on this title later this year, specifically in the fall.

The Evolution Championship Series (Evo) is an annual fighting-game competition event. Evo 2024 has wrapped up registration for 2024 a few days ago and it has been announced that the event that will be held in Las Vegas is the largest in the history of the tournament.

The event will feature more than 10,000 participants from 63 countries around the globe, who come together to compete in such popular titles as Tekken 8, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, and more. Evo 2024 takes place July 19-21 and the explosion of interest is a sign of a growing community interested in competitive gaming.
