The First 3 films were released in theaters and the 4th and 5th films were Straight to DVD (Also appeared on the Sci Fi Channel as a "Sci Fi" Original)
The only interesting aspect of the movie are the splatter effects. Some of them had to be taken out for the R-Rated version which can be found on iTunes. Still, there is lots of blood. The US DVD by Lions Gate Films is uncut and was also rated R.
