Neat

A deranged but kind of cool piece of animation, Torachan and the Bride is about a grandfather who's a massive hater when it comes to a family wedding. So a pair of kids get told to just keep him busy while the wedding happens, I guess. The opening is nonsense and I had no idea what was happening, but once I started to have a tiny idea what was happening, I got to enjoying it a decent amount. What stands out is the way the "camera" moves about. I know it's not actually a camera, but the view changes without there being a cut in a bunch of instances, swooping and swirling, rather than just panning or zooming slightly. Maybe there are older films that did that a ton, but it stood out as cool to me, as did the weirdness of Torachan and the Bride overall. I think it's a worthwhile curiosity for fans of Japanese animation.
