Wonderfully Fulfilling

I have just recently become aware of the work that Amy Earhart and Trey Stokes have done together. Of course the first project I saw was the Pink Five shorts. (And I loved them!!) I also viewed "Land of Many Uses" short and felt the same awe and appreciation as I had for "Woody Burns...A Life".

Tonight I had the honor of watching Amy stretch her wings and FLY in this dramatic short film. And what a flight it was! It is amazing to me just how much emotion can be captured in such a short time by people with real talent. Not just the principle actors, as good as they are here, but also the Directing/Cinematography/Editing was very professional.

I am not a film critic by any stretch of the imagination. I am just a guy who's been fortunate enough to have been seen some truly dangerous ideas on film making. Dangerous in the sense that other filmmakers have to beware! These films have openend my eyes and raised the bar of expectation for me whenever I view a film from now on.

Amy / Trey and the rest of the crew, this new fan of yours would like to simply say: Thank you.

Clerks Meets a Redemption Film

This is a very good short from the crew that brought us the Pink Five shorts. It is set an a Starbucks-like coffee shop. Although this is a short film it manages to capture the charm of the environment and job much like Kevin Smith's "Clerks"did back in 1994. It has a good twist near the end. The two leads are very good considering their' limited limited screen time.It makes me wonder again: Why hasn't Amy Earhart gotten a feature film role yet? If you like Pink 5 or Pink 5 Strikes Back this is as director Trey stokes said" As far away as you can get from that" Do not look for the same charm from Amy Earhart as in those shorts.

Taking into consideration that this was a short film I'll give it a 5/5.

Starring Amy Earhart and "Booger"

This independent short stars Amy Earhart and Curtis Armstrong ("Booger" from the Revenge of the Nerds and many other films). It's set in a coffee shop just before opening time. Booger asks to come inside and use the bathroom. The rather tough young lady (Earhart) who works there reluctantly lets him in...and later strikes up a conversation with him. It turns out he's a big-time producer and, of course, she's an aspiring actress. What happens next really took my by surprise. The only disappointment was the way the lady acted at the very end of the film--it didn't make a lot of sense for her just to leave the shop the way she did. However, despite this quibble, the acting was excellent and I enjoyed the film quite a bit.

By the way, if you are wondering what that guitar song is, it's Air in G by Bach.
