Manasarovar (2004)

Trivia

Manasarovar

Edit
This is the first feature film for its Writer-Director, Cameraman, Sound Designer, Editor, Art Director and Co-producers.
This was the third script written by Anup. It was also the least criticized by his brother and co-producer Arun. Anup, Arun and their uncle Henri drove to Milwaukee in December 2001 to buy the Arriflex camera used for filming Manasarovar.
Atul Kulkarni, Neha Dubey and Zafar Karachiwala play Malayalees (people from Kerala, the southern state of India). But none of them are Malayalees.
The day the scenes with Latha, the elephant, was shot recorded the highest rainfall for the state of Kerala in 2003. It was also the costliest day of shoot...with cranes, tracks, trolleys, and Latha, of course.
The guitar piece 'end of hope' (while Ravi is in the lake) was composed by David the day he knew he was out of contention for a job he was desperately hoping to land.
