With the aim of targeting the larger and more profitable English-speaking audiences, the voices for The 3 Wise Men were originally recorded in English - twice, in fact, after a change in direction led to a major rewrite of the script - and only after animation was it dubbed into Spanish for the theatrical release in Spain. Both original recordings in English for the European market were directed by Stephen Hughes. For the Disney/Walmart release in the USA, however, much of the film was revoiced in California under the direction of Bob Buchholz with more American accents and some better-known actors.
