StarStruck

unoriginal but phenomenal concept

The reality-based teen actor search 'Starstruck' has the makings of the basic mediocre reality show contest: unknown contestants, insulting judges, endless illogical challenges, and all the hype and artificial drama on TV. Nevertheless, unoriginal as it may be, the fame and phenomena it came with is truly unbelievable.

The basic concept of 'Starstruck', which is a combination of 'The Next Action Star' and 'American Idol', is to follow 14 young hopefuls in their quest towards an acting contract with the parent network. After all the intense workshops and talent challenges, the judges will choose the winner by eliminating contestants one by one per week.

So far, 'Starstruck' started the current reality-based talent search craze on TV. Even the rival network came up with their own plagiarized replica of this show through 'Star Circle Quest'.

The parent network is truly reaping the benefits of 'Starstruck', all thanks to the creative team behind this reality show phenomenon. One can only hope that the parent network will not use this newfound power as a means of exploitation.
