Constantin seals Premiere TV deal
COLOGNE, Germany -- German distributor and production house Constantin Film confirmed Monday that it has signed a three-year output deal with German pay TV operation Premiere. As reported last week (HR 2/10), the deal will run from 2004-06 and will include Constantin pickup titles including Alexander, Lost in Translation and 21 Grams as well as such in-house productions as Wrong Turn, Autobahn Racer and the upcoming horror sci-fi feature Resident Evil: Apocalypse. The deal will include all of Constantin's productions and distribution pickups beginning Jan. 1, 2004 through Dec. 31, 2006, except for children's films, Premiere said Monday. "Pay TV in Germany has finally been successfully established with the new Premiere," Constantin CEO Fred Kogel said in a statement. "We are pleased with the signing of this deal to have laid a cornerstone for future close cooperation with Premiere."...

Constantin, Premiere prep output accord
BERLIN -- Top German independent production and distribution outfit Constantin Film is in final negotiations to sign a three-year output deal with German pay TV platform Premiere, Constantin production head Martin Moszkowicz said in an interview Monday at the Berlin International Film Festival. The deal, which is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks, would see Premiere take Constantin's full feature film slate, starting in 2005. Among the titles included in the deal are in-house productions Resident Evil: Apocalypse and action-comedy Autobahnraser (Autobahn Racer) as well as Constantin pickups like Oliver Stone's historical epic Alexander.
