The school scenes were filmed at a real school in Scarborough, and the children used as extras in the scenes and the girls who played Kelly's Friends, were pupils at the school.
The actress who was supposed to play Tessa couldn't make it, so the part was spilt in two and given to two other actresses.
The funeral scene used real flowers that were made up for a funeral the following day, an already dug grave and a coffin that was being used the next day which unnerved some of the cast.
