2025 is a year full of anime anniversaries. Several beloved anime released in 2000 are now turning 25 this year, which is kind of hard to believe. So much time has passed since these beloved classics were first released, but at least streaming services make it easy to watch the anime fans had loved these past 25 years.

The Zenshu TV anime from Mappa announced that it is set to premiere on January 5, 2025 , following the release of a brand new trailer at Ccxp in Brazil. A new trailer and accompanying key art were unveiled during the Crunchyroll Industry Panel, offering an enticing glimpse of what’s actually to come in the original anime series. As previewed in the trailer, the Japanese rock band Band-maid will perform the opening theme “Zen,” with Sou performing the ending theme “Tada, Kimo no Mama de.” As previously announced , Zenshu will stream on Crunchyroll as it premieres in Japan in January. Zenshu New Trailer, Key Art Mitsue Yamasaki ( Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle ) is on board as director, with Kimiko Ueno ( The Royal Tutor ) providing the scripts and Kayoko Ishikawa ( Sarazanmai ) serving as one of the chief animation directors and adapting Yoshiteru Tsujino's original character designs. Zenshu will feature the music of Yukari Hashimoto.

Reading and analyzing the source material while adapting it into another art form is extremely necessary. As 2023 bids farewell, the annual Anime! Anime! General Election has unveiled the winners of the “Most Recommended Female Voice Actor” of 2023.

The survey period spanned from Nov 15, 2023, to Dec 15, 2023, during which over 3,000 anime fans participated. With a majority of female respondents, accounting for approximately 65%, with 35% being male, the survey captured the sentiments of a diverse audience ranging from those under 19 to individuals in their 40s.

Participants were asked to identify the voice actors who left a lasting impression, whether through their roles in various anime or their appearances in other forms of entertainment. The criteria ranged from the most active and impactful voice actor of the year to the one fans found themselves recommending the most.

Sega is planning on reviving some of its "major IPs" as part of their recently released three-year plan.

This information was revealed in Sega's "Road to 2020" presentation document which the company released at the end of the latest fiscal year. The document references quite a few directions that Sega would like to go in moving forward, but the most interesting tidbit is certainly their promise to revive major IPs within the next few years. 

In a way, Sega has already begun this process. The recent PC re-release of Bayonetta and the upcoming release of Vanquish on that same platform suggests that Sega is already interested...

Organisers have announced that the McM London Comic Con this May will host the European premiere of new Sunrise film Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin III. Comic Con will also welcome the series’ mecha designer and producer, Mika Akitaka and Osamu Taniguchi – both of whom will be signing autographs for fans and presenting a panel on the Saturday of the Excel London show.

Mika Akitaka has worked as a mechanical designer on a slew of Mobile Suit Gundam titles prior to The Origin, such as Mobile Suit Gundam Zz and Mobile Suit Gundam 0083, along with series such as Martian Successor Nadesico, A Certain Magical Index: Miracle of Endymion, Date A Live, Sakura Wars and Super Robot Wars Og: The Inspector. As well as producing The Origin, Osamu Taniguchi’s credits include The Piano Forest, Lupin III (TV Special), Moyashimon and slice-of-life comedy Ramen Fighter Miki.
