Further Up Pompeii!

Cor blimey. My eyes almost popped out when I saw Scrubba on this. It is respected and award winning thespian Lindsay Duncan in an early role showing of her talented assets.

After five years away. Lurcio returns to BBC television in this one off special. I presume it was intended for further episodes but that did not happen.

There has been a few cast changes. Mark Dignam takes over as Ludicrus Sextus.

Everything else is the same. Lurcio attempts to gives his prologue. In his master's house. Ammonia is holding an orgy while Ludicrus is away.

Nausius has fallen for a Scrubba. Lurcio advises him to go to an apothecary to get a special portion to help him out with Scrubba. There is a mix up as Lurcio turns up to buy a sleeping portion for his master Ludicrus.

Maybe some of the jokes were not as sharp. A few of them certainly need explaining. Even the camera angles indicated that this might have been rushed.

I recently watched the show, movie, and "special" one offs for this show. The show is great, and this is a nice little addition to it. Some of the cast got changed up, but most was still there. It's basically just a slightly longer episode of the show, which is not a bad thing. It was as solid as any episode.
