Pete Davidson and Casey Affleck Team Up With Doug Liman on Bitcoin Thriller Film ‘Killing Satoshi’ (Exclusive)
Image
Satoshi Nakamoto is a man whose very existence remains hotly debated. Now the Bitcoin creator is getting the big-screen treatment.

Doug Liman has signed on to direct “Killing Satoshi,” a conspiracy thriller that looks to unravel one of the most enduring mysteries of the 21st century: the secret identity of Nakamoto and why the answer threatens the global power structure. Oscar winner Casey Affleck (“Manchester by the Sea”) and Pete Davidson (“The King of Staten Island”) will star in the film, with their character descriptions being kept under wraps.

Nick Schenk, who has collaborated with Clint Eastwood on two of his more recent movies — “Gran Torino” and “The Mule” — wrote the screenplay, which traces an elite cabal’s diabolical plans to make sure that the truth never surfaces.

“Killing Satoshi” marks the mainstream Hollywood return of Ryan Kavanaugh, the high-flying Relativity Media chief who financed such films as “The Social Network,...

It might be lights out at LA historic Mayan Theatre, but no one is planning to hang up their tights in the long run for the city’s longest running wrestling variety show, Lucha VaVoom de La Liz.

The 23-year-old Lucha VaVoom de La Liz is very close to announcing its new venue in the next month with a show planned for November. Tonight it’s Lucha‘s finale at the Mayan in a show that’s titled “The Good, the Bad, the Fabulous”.

The September shuttering of the 98-year-old Mayan was announced back in July, the theater being home to such film shoots as The Bodyguard and The Night at the Roxbury.

‘Blue Beetle’ Turns Two: James Gunn’s Dcu Has Forgotten Him But These 4 DC Shows Did Him Proud
Image
Blue Beetle, the 2023 superhero flick starring Latinos on the Dceu roster, turns two this year. Led by Xolo Maridueña, playing the titular role of Jamie Reyes, the movie unfortunately underperformed at the box office but received praise from fans for showcasing humor and heart.

Regarding the status of the Blue Beetle in the Dcu, James Gunn (co-head of DC Studios) had this to say in 2023 (via Threads):

Blue Beetle (played by the wonderful @xolo_mariduena) & a handful of other characters will continue on in the Dcu, even though the first DC Studios movie is Superman: Legacy.

Well, it’s been two years, and James Gunn seems to have forgotten the optimistic young superhero in the Dcu films. Given the live-action movie’s underperformance at the box office, Gunn appears to be taking a safer route, with a Blue Beetle animated series in the works. Maridueña is set to reprise his role as the superhero,...

The 12 Most Underrated Justice League Members, Ranked
Image
While the Avengers may be the premier team in the Marvel Universe, the DC Universe has the Justice League as its greatest protectors. This team often boasts having the Dcu's most iconic heavy hitters like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, each with their own dedicated fans. However, across the Justice League's extensive history, there are also superheroes on the team that have long gone overlooked and underappreciated despite their membership. Given the sheer number of heroes that served on the League, this is to be expected, but many figures are more powerful and deserve more love than they usually get.

This oversight can be influenced by the characters' relatively brief time on the Justice League, an underestimation of their abilities, or just wide reader reaction to their inclusion. In some cases, readers may have dismissed the presence of these heroes for not being perceived as Justice League material. Despite being largely written off,...

‘High School Musical’ Producer Bill Borden Teams With China’s Mili Pictures on ‘Wukong Warrior’ Global Distribution
Image
Emmy-winning producer Bill Borden, who helped shepherd Disney’s hit “High School Musical” franchise, has partnered with China’s Mili Pictures to bring their animated feature “Wukong Warrior” to global television and streaming audiences.

Borden is spearheading the adaptation of the Monkey King tale for TV and streaming platforms worldwide through his partnership with Summit International Pictures. While digital and linear platforms are the priority, the producers haven’t ruled out limited theatrical runs in the U.S. and other territories.

“Wukong Warrior” will hit Chinese theaters in September, with international buyers getting their first look at Mip Jr and Mipcom Oct. 11-16 in Cannes.

The animated action-adventure comedy reimagines the classic Chinese tale of Sun Wukong, the rebellious stone-born warrior with cosmic powers who defies the gods. James Gunn's DC Universe Could Be Building Toward The Justice League – But Not How You Think
Image
James Gunn's "Superman" does a lot of things right, but arguably the best thing the movie does as the first film in the new DC Universe is create a vast world that feels lived-in. The opening text crawl opens the door for a universe where superheroes have been around for centuries (if not millennia), while the rest of the movie paints a picture of a superhero universe full of magic. Here, kaiju attacks in Metropolis are just another day for the people of the city. Pocket universes are not just theory, they are so real that they simply annoy characters when they find out a villain is using them. This is a world filled with heroes, and one where there's already a corporate superhero team.

And it seems James Gunn is building up to another team, but not the way you think.

In an interview with ScreenRant's Ash Crossan,...

'Blue Beetle' Star Xolo Maridueña Addresses His Dcu Future
Image
Hot on the heels of Superman, DC fans are more than likely "looking up" information on what's next for the new shared superhero universe. One of the few Dceu survivors who is expected to reprise their role in Peter Safran and James Gunn's revamped Dcu has now taken the opportunity to address their franchise future, specifically whether plans are still in motion for their fan-favorite character to return to screens. It seems that the DC hero's journey will continue in an additional project. As they suggest, "The universe is cracked open!"

Xolo Maridueña made his DC debut as Jaime Reyes, aka the Blue Beetle, in the 2023 film based on the DC Comics superhero of the same name. Directed by Ángel Manuel Soto and written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, Blue Beetle was the fourteenth installment in the DC Extended Universe, but many fans were left wondering whether Maridueña's iteration of the...

Star of One of the Few Certified Fresh Dceu Movies Reveals the Status of His DC Hero After ‘Superman’
Image
In 2023, Xolo Maridueña made his Dcu debut in Blue Beetle, where he played Jamie Reyes, aka Blue Beetle. And while this young superhero isn't making a return to the big screen just yet, he will star in his own animated series that's currently in production with Warner Bros. Animation. While the show has yet to announce an official release date, the Cobra Kai star sees the potential for this show's place in James Gunn's DC Universe.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Maridueña shared his thoughts about Blue Beetle's place in the Dcu. According to the actor, since he has already played the role in live-action, he's excited to explore more of the character and see where he fits in this overarching superhero universe. Additionally, he cited that Blue Beetle's potential could draw inspiration from other successful animated shows, and that he's keen to see more of this superhero's story in a brand-new visual format.

Blue Beetle Star Cites Young Justice, Studio Ghibli as Inspiration for Upcoming DC Stories
Image
The DC Universe has officially begun now that Superman is available in theaters around the world. While essentially a fresh start for DC's beloved stable of characters, there is some connection to the old DC Extended Universe, with some actors, like Xolo Maridueña, set to reprise their roles in the new universe.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant to talk about the new Smurfs movie, in which he voices Brainy Smurf, Maridueña offered an update on his forthcoming return as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle, beginning with what it means to him to see the world of Blue Beetle continue in the new Dcu. "It means the world. I have gotten to, for the past two years since this movie has come out, witness the positive effects of having a character like this live in this grand universe," the actor shared. "And I'm even happier that he was the first,...

‘Superman’ Box Office Collection: David Corenswet Is Still Miles Away From Beating Henry Cavill’s Domestic Collection With Man of Steel
Image
Despite having a stellar start for James Gunn’s Dcu and Superman earning high numbers in its box office debut, the film is still lagging behind Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder’s 2013 masterpiece, Man of Steel.

James Gunn and David Corenswet‘s Superman premiered to awesome reviews and critical acclaim when the film was released worldwide on July 11. With previews and opening day sales, the film reached a high number in terms of earnings and has consistently been earning more and more. But, something seems to be interfering with Superman’s way as people are watching the film, trying to keep up with the earnings of Man of Steel, and some fear that Zack Snyder could have been the better choice, after all.

David Corenswet’s Superman Has Yet To Overtake Man of Steel’s Domestic Collection

There’s nothing to be sad about (yet), as even though Superman hasn...

James Gunn's Entire DC Universe Timeline Explained
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Spoilers for "Superman" to follow.

"Superman" is here and, Highfather willing, it's the beginning of a new DC Universe on film. James Gunn isn't just the movie's director, he's co-president of the new DC Studios with Peter Safran and is charged with assembling a DC Universe on film and television. The fate of "Superman" will determine the future of that Dcu and possibly parent studio Warner Bros'.

But there's messiness, because Warner Bros already spent a decade trying to make a cinematic universe out of the DC Comics world. That effort was called the DC Extended Universe. Gunn was involved back when the Dceu was still ongoing; he wrote-directed "The Suicide Squad" and created its TV spin-off, "Peacemaker."

Gunn has pretty consistently maintained that the Dcu is a fresh start, but it's not a clean break either. In a 2023 post on Threads,...

With Marvel skipping its Hall H panel, this is DC's chance to shine at Sdcc
Image
Last week, the unthinkable was announced about Marvel Studios: Kevin Feige and the company are not planning on having their usual Saturday evening panel at San Diego Comic-Con's hallowed Hall H in 2025.

The thought is that the decision to pass on the nerd utopia is due to the impending "Dunesday" next December. The delay of Avengers: Doomsday to December 2026 means that the studio will got for a whole year without any movies to promote at the event (this summer's The Fantastic Four: First Steps releases just ahead of Sdcc and the next release won't be until Sony's Spider-Man: Brand New Day next summer), so it's thought that they decided to hold off until next year when they could promote the same movies much closer to their actual release dates.

Among the immediate objective thoughts among fans is "Why would they?" Since Iron Man soared onto the stage in...

Why Disney Canceled The Meet The Robinsons Sequel
Image
When discussing the films of Walt Disney Animation Studios from the 21st century, "Meet the Robinsons" is often overlooked. That is a shame, because it is one of the studio's most underrated films, telling a sincere sci-fi coming-of-age story filled with equal parts laughter and thoughtfulness. Although the film was a box office disappointment, grossing $170.5 million over a budget of $150 million, it received generally positive reviews from critics. It has also garnered some notoriety online, with fans of the film who were children when it hit theaters 18 years ago, now revisiting it and in some cases, sharing it with their children.

"Meet the Robinsons" showcased an exciting sci-fi world, and given its prominent use of time travel, utilized clever story mechanics to explore different eras in time, particularly the year 2037, which, *gulp,* we are closer to now than we are to 2007. Implementing time travel into the script effectively explored the...

'Superman' Star Nathan Fillion Describes His Green Lantern as a "Jerk"
Image
Superman star Nathan Fillion confirms that the bowl cut won't be the only comic-accurate thing about his character Guy Gardner, including his, at times, off-putting personality. After years of being the top fan choice to play Hal Jordan, Fillion is finally putting on the Green Lantern ring, but as the lesser-known, fan-favorite Guy Gardner. His Green Lantern has already made an impression, based on his brief shot in the trailer sporting the worst bowl cut imaginable. Gardner is a very different Green Lantern from what audiences are more likely familiar with, and it sounds like Superman will embrace that.

While speaking to TV Guide about Season 7 of his hit television series, The Rookie, the conversation, naturally, shifted to Superman. Fillion was asked what will separate his version of the Green Lantern from past incarnations, and his answer is just what fans want to hear. Fillion confirms that Gardner will not be the best guy,...

‘Tiana’ Disney+ Series Canceled, Special Moving Forward Instead
Image
“Tiana,” a streaming series from Walt Disney Animation Studios that was meant to debut on Disney+ and continue the adventures of Disney’s first Black princess (voiced by Anika Noni Rose), is no longer moving forward at the animation studio.

Instead, Joyce Sherri, who was writing and directing on the animated series, will be helming an animated special that will find its home on Disney+. “Meet the Robinsons” director Stephen Anderson will also direct on the new project.

This is part of the House of Mouse’s strategic shift away from long-form animated series to instead focus on both its one-movie-a-year theatrical cadence, which will mix original series with sequels like the upcoming “Frozen 3” and “Frozen 4,” along with its short-form content like the “Zootopia+” and “Baymax!” series (both of which are Emmy winners).

There will also be a small reduction in staff at the Vancouver studio, but this indicates...

A collection of new animated series has been greenlit for James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Studios. The projects, announced at an industry briefing on Feb. 21, aim to bolster the Dcu brand with programming for "younger-skewing" audiences.

Disney’s Next Animated Movie Should Be 2-D
Image
Disney fans born before or during the turn of the century likely associate the studio’s animated films with its iconic two-dimensional style. Beginning with Snow White, these movies became a childhood staple for generations. However, with Tangled, Disney shifted to a three-dimensional animation style. While not new to 3-D — thanks to earlier films like Bolt and Meet the Robinsons — Tangled marked the first Disney princess film in this style, concluding the 2-D princess era with 2009’s ThePrincess and the Frog.

The trend of 3-D animation has continued, with recent films like Encanto earning widespread acclaim. Alongside this, Disney has increasingly favored live-action remakes of its classics, with their first attempt coming via 1994's The Jungle Book. It has since continued this trend, with movies like The Little Mermaid and Snow White getting a live-action remake, further distancing audiences from the charm of 2-D animation. With 3-D and live-action dominating,...

10 Disney Movies That Are Terrible From Beginning to End
Image
Disney is a studio known for creating pure magic with their films, but not even the most acclaimed artists can have a hit on their hands 100% of the time. As Disney has gone through different eras with its animation and live-action releases, the studio has had its fair share of flops. More recently, with a shift in emphasis on live-action remakes of its classic animated tales, Disney has disappointed audiences as it shallowly attempts to cultivate nostalgia by translating beautifully animated musicals into CGI-inundated, bland, poorly-written content.

Though these frequent missteps are new, Disney isn't a stranger to less-than-desirable films. The studio has had similar issues with audience reception during their early 2000s period and even back in the 1980s after Disney's first PG-rated animated film, The Black Cauldron, severely tanked at the box office. Seeing such faulty storytelling and filmmaking from Disney can be hard to stomach, especially for their most loyal fans.

This 16-Year-Old Forgotten Disney Movie Saved the Company in the 2000s

Quick LinksDisney's Bolt Was a Successful But Almost Forgotten Disney FilmDisney's Bolt Helped Save Walt Disney Animation in the Early 2000sDisney's Bolt Has a Similar Premise to Disney • Pixar’s Toy Story

It's possible only Disney fans remember Bolt(2008). One of the first fully computer-generated movies Disney produced without the partnership of Pixar in the early 2000s. The studio was struggling to make the transition from hand-drawn animation to CGI at the time, and Bolt gave the studio the boost it needed. Starring John Travolta and a young Miley Cyrus, the movie follows a dog who believes he has the same superpowers as his TV persona. It premiered on November 17, 2008, at Disney's El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California, and ranked third at the box office in its opening weekend.

Critically and financially, it was a hit for Disney. However, over the years, a shadow has fallen over Bolt, and it's...

Every Failed Smallville Spinoff (& Why They Were Canceled)

In the 2010s, the success of Arrow resulted in a Flash spinoff series and eventually the entire Arrowverse. Despite being its spiritual successor, Smallvillenever went down this path. However, it wasn't for a lack of trying, and as recently as two years ago, there was still interest in reviving the beloved Superman series.

Smallville was a smash hit that lasted 10 seasons, but none of its potential spinoffs even got a single season. Only one of the conceptualized spinoffs even had a pilot produced, even after the CW drama went out of its way to include multiple backdoor pilots. Every proposed spinoff would have starred at least one iconic DC hero, and with fans having only recently learned about some of them, it's possible there are still pitches that haven't been unveiled.

Xolo Maridueña is one of very few former Dceu stars who won't be recast in James Gunn's rebooted DC Universe, as the actor is set to return as Blue Beetle in a new animated project. He'll serve as showrunner, while Cristian Martinez (Women of the Movement) is writing the series. Angel Manuel Soto and Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, director and screenwriter of the 2023 movie, respectively, executive producing alongside John Ricard. Galen Vaisman, another Blue Beetle executive producer, is overseeing the series for DC Studios.

Jaime Reyes actor Xolo Maridueña is reprising his role alongside unnamed other actors who also starred in the Blue Beetle movie. However, there have been conflicting reports about whether it's a continuation or soft reboot meant to bring Jaime into the Dcu without any Dceu baggage.

Talking to The Direct at the Saturn Awards, Maridueña expressed his enthusiasm to play Blue Beetle again.

Dcu Canon Film 'Blue Beetle' Is Now Streaming for Free on Tubi
Image
Released in 2023, Blue Beetle serves as one of the final entries in the much-maligned Dceu. However, the fan-favorite superhero is already set to return in James Gunn's rebooted DC Universe, and for good reason. A standalone coming-of-age origin story, Blue Beetle impressed critics and audiences alike with its lovable protagonist, led by Cobra Kai's Xolo Maridueña. Fortunately, it's never been easier to catch up on the DC film, as it's now streaming for free on Tubi.

Blue Beetle is now available to stream at no cost with ads on Tubi starting Feb. 1. The film follows Jaime Reyes (Maridueña), a young college graduate who is imbued with superpowers when he comes into contact with an alien relic, the Scarab. Guided by a Jarvis-like voice, Jaime has the ability to create any kind of weapon he can imagine (sort of like Green Lantern), as well as flight. The first live-action...

Every Action Movie Streaming for Free on Tubi in February 2025
Image
Tubi has become one of the world's most popular streaming services thanks to its ad-supported model. Certainly, people are more inclined to purchase premium subscriptions because they will be able to access exclusive content, although Tubi is just as good, if not better, than many streaming options. The reason for this is that there are plenty of movies available on the platform, and when they are divided into genres such as Western, action, horror, and comedy, you will find Tubi to be a highly reliant platform.

Speaking of action movies, there are hundreds of exciting action movies available across various streaming platforms, but Tubi offers them for free on a monthly basis, adding some of the most iconic titles to the roster despite being from third-party providers. Having said that, who doesn't enjoy watching action flicks every now and then? Films like Taken and Die Hard, in particular, are cult...

Disney's 15 Biggest Animated Box Office Flops
Image
Disney is renowned for its animation, but the company has still seen animated movies flop at the box office. Many of the early best Disney animated movies performed well enough at the box office, while the biggest flops came in the company's later years. This is likely due to a myriad of factors, including basic inflation meaning a greater loss. Disney also has more box office flops after the rise of 3D animation, possibly due to an increase in animated blockbusters in general, meaning more competition and higher standards.

Many box office flops become cult classics, animated Disney movies included. This reflects how the marketability and advertising strategy may not be the best representation of a movie's quality. The most underrated Disney movies are generally not the highest earners but still deserve the attention of the Disney fanbase. Unfortunately, Disney Animation is unlikely to take a chance on the same...

10 Movies That Are Basically The Iron Giant
Image
The Iron Giant is one of the best animated films to ever come out of Warner Bros. Pictures, and while the film's popularity has dwindled since it was released in 1999, the core and message of the film can be seen in many modern films. In 1999, Disney was at the top of their game when it came to animated movies. By comparison, other studios struggled to compete, and even one of the largest studios in Hollywood, Warner Bros., relied on popular IP's like Batman and the Looney Tunes to fill seats.

However, at the turn of the century, WB put out a spectacular film that harked back to tensions of the Cold War with a 1957 setting. And on top of this tension, the film adds in a story of friendship between a young teenage boy and a gigantic alien robot. As the boy gets to know his new friend, the pair...

1 Legendary Batman Star Played a Different Superhero in Disney’s Most Underrated Film
Image
The Batman franchise has seen its fair share of adaptations over the years. The Dark Knight has appeared on-screen in movies, TV shows, and numerous animated depictions. Every depiction captured a wide range of genres. There was the action hero Ben Affleck from Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), the mystery lead Robert Pattinson from The Batman (2022), and the comedian Will Arnett from The Lego Batman (2017). All of those clashing portrayals came within six years of each other, and each revealed a different side of Gotham's determined protector.

The Batman movies and shows did not begin with the DC Extended Universe, of course. The character was first adapted from the comics in a radio drama in 1945, but he has since debuted in a variety of other mediums. In animation, he has been portrayed by Olan Soule (The Adventures of Batman), Kevin Conroy (Batman Beyond), Diedrich Bader (Batman: The Brave and the Bold...

10 Disney Movies That Would Make Great Live-Action TV Shows
Image
In recent years, more animated Disney films have received live-action theatrical remakes, but a few untouched beloved classics might work better as live-action TV shows. The response from critics and audiences to Disney's live-action remakes varies, but with the right filmmaking and creative team behind live-action projects, fan-favorite films getting such a transformation is exciting. So far, many of the remakes don't stray too far from the original plot of their animated inspirations. However, with the TV format, the story of films like The Black Cauldron and The Great Mouse Detective can be expanded upon across a limited or multiple-season series.

Live-action TV series also benefit certain movies over others when it comes to films with big casts, such as Meet the Robinsons or Encanto — stretching out a story over multiple episodes allows for more attention toward breakout supporting characters. Additionally, the vast setting of these films can be transformed into breathtaking live-action sets,...

10 Great Disney Movies That Have Almost No Representation At The Theme Parks
Image
Movie theme parks have the power to turn beloved on-screen stories into tangible creations. Whether it be a ride, location, or restaurant, these attractions give life to fictional characters and their worlds. Disney has proved to be the pioneer of the film-based theme park concept. In 1955, Disneyland was first opened in Anaheim, California, which was the first public attraction of its kind. This effectively kicked off a chain reaction of park releases that have grown into the massive industry that exists in 2024.

Disney is undoubtedly one of the heaviest hitters in the realm of modern cinema. Given the size and popularity of their franchises, it's no surprise that Disney has upcoming movies planned from 2024 to 2029. The company has similarly big goals in the world of tourist attractions, considering the recent reveal of Disneyland's new Avatar California adventure plans. It would seem reasonable to expect a popular Disney release to feature a corresponding theme park presence,...

I Wish The Masked Singer Would Have A Whole Season Of Non-Professional Singers
Image
The Masked Singer has featured some of the most iconic singers, including season 12's most recent winners Boyz II Men (Buffalos) and runner-up Mario (Wasp), but I wish the show would have a whole season of non-professional singers. The Masked Singer premiered in January 2019, with host Nick Cannon and panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger. During season 11, Rita Ora took Nicole's place on the panel while the latter star was busy with other commitments.

The Masked Singer has had twelve winners so far--T-Pain (Monster), Wayne Brady (Fox), Kandi Burruss (Night Angel), LeAnn Rimes (Sun), Nick Lachey (Piglet), Jewel (Queen of Hearts), Teyana Taylor (Firefly), Amber Riley (Harp), Bishop Briggs (Medusa), Ne-Yo (Cow), Vanessa Hudgens (Goldfish), and Boyz II Men (Buffalos)--and all of them are professional singers in some capacity. Superman Composer John Murphy Shares 30-Second "Theme From Superman" Ahead Of Trailer Release
Image
Yesterday, Warner Bros. and DC Studios shared the first poster for Superman. The movie will serve as the true launching platform for the new Dcu after Max's Creature Commandos, and excitement for Thursday's trailer is rapidly rising.

In the motion poster shared on social media yesterday, we heard what appeared to be composer John Murphy's score for the reboot. Taking its cues from John Williams' work in Superman: The Movie and, to a lesser extent, Hans Zimmer's Man of Steel theme, it's received a positive response from fans.

Today, Murphy has posted a 30-second clip on YouTube in a video he's named "Theme From Superman." We don't know if this is the Man of Tomorrow's main theme, but it seems to be at least part of it (we'd imagine a full "reveal" is being saved for the trailer).

There's a Reason Mary Cooper Looks So Similar in 'Tbbt' and 'Young Sheldon'
Image
Since its spectacular debut in 2007, the fan-favorite sitcom The Big Bang Theory continues to attract and entertain audiences all around the globe, with the juggernaut hit going on to become one of the most popular TV shows of all time and launching a lucrative and enduring franchise. Tbbt ran for 12 dazzling seasons and was the recipient of numerous accolades, like 10 Primetime Emmys, with its massive success leading to the development of two knockout spin-offs: Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.

The coming-of-age series Young Sheldon serves as a prequel to Tbbt and chronicles the genius Sheldon Cooper's upbringing in the small Texas town of Medford during the late '80s and '90s. Zoe Perry memorably starred as Sheldon's devoted mother Mary for seven seasons, taking over the role from film and TV great Laurie Metcalf, who sporadically appeared as the character throughout the course of Tbbt.

10 Things To Know From Previous DC Movies And Shows Before Creature Commandos
Image
Creature Commandos is set to launch a brand new DC Universe, although several components of the previous Dceu have informed some of the new series. With the canonicity of certain events called into question, it is difficult to know exactly what will apply to the Dcu and what will not, even after James Gunn's recent comments. It is now clear that certain elements of Amanda Waller's appearances in The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker will be canon, while others, including in Black Adam, will not. As a result, it is worth having a resource to know what to expect.

Several features from the Dceu may still come into play during the run of the Dcu, although how this will play in remains to be seen. Gunn has spoken about how certain elements from the Dceu may be acknowledged, and therefore become a part of the series' canon. Until that is done,...

One Of The Best Time Travel Movies Ever Is Also One Of Disneys Most Underrated Films
Image
17 years ago, Disney released Meet the Robinsons, a tale about a young inventor whose determination to find his birth mother takes him on a trip to the future. Since then, Meet the Robinsons has become a forgotten Disney movie, but it is unquestionably one of the studio's most underrated films. The incredibly touching story is from the vision of Stephen J. Anderson, who has gone on to create some of the best Disney movies of all time, including titles like Big Hero 6, Moana, and Frozen 2. The filmmakers' creative direction resulted in Meet the Robinsons becoming one of the greatest time travel movies ever.

Meet the Robinsons is somewhat inspired by a novel from 1990, A Day with Wilbur Robinson. However, the movie introduces a wider range of characters to expand the narrative across its two worlds. There are plenty of amusing moments in Meet the Robinsons, which are counterbalanced by its moving wider story.

Turns out another major Dceu star is coming back to the Dcu after all
Image
As James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the helm at DC Studios, they helped to usher in a new day for DC Comics which has meant a lot of changes.

In looking to start a new chapter for DC Comics by creating a new shared universe that hopes to rival the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the book must close on the Dceu. With the Decu coming to an end, this has meant the end of many amazing actors’ runs within the franchise as the iconic characters they brought to life within various Dceu films.

As hard as it has been to accept the end of this era – after all the Dceu did manage to assemble some incredible performers such as Gal Gadot in the role of Wonder Woman — we must accept that to start fresh change has to be made. And change has indeed been coming with several new actors...

James Gunn Confirms Almost All of Peacemaker Season 1 Is Dcu Canon After All (With 1 Exception)
Image
James Gunn said some Dceu plots and characters will be included in the rebooted Dcu timeline. Creature Commandos will confirm which of the old story arcs will survive.

James Gunn said Peacemaker Season 1 is included in the new Dcu timeline. He also told IGN that their first installment to Chapter One: Gods and Monsters will determine which parts of the Dceu will be included in the new canon. Now in Creature Commandos, you'll hear them talk about things that happened in [The] Suicide Squad or Peacemaker, he said. Well then, those things automatically become canon. Some of those events have been hinted at in the shows trailer, but the show could also explore connections (if any) to the Dceu storylines.

'Incredibly Daunting': The Batman Director Reveals Concerns Over Creating a New Joker
Image
DC fans should not expect a familiar Joker in Matt Reeves' The Batman Epic Crime Saga. The filmmaker has recently opened up about how the Clown Prince of Crime will be reimagined for his big screen debut in a future The Batman sequel.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about The Penguin finale and The Batman Part II, Reeves was asked if it has been difficult coming up with a new take on the Joker, given that there have been so many acclaimed versions over the years, notably Heath Ledger's version in The Dark Knight and Joaquin Phoenix's title character in the Joker duology. "Anytime youre going to approach any of these characters, you have to find a fresh way to do it," Reeves explained. "So that makes it incredibly daunting. At the same time, this version of Penguin is a version of Penguin that no one had ever seen.

'Blue Beetle' Star Xolo Mariduea Says It's 'An Honor' to Be in James Gunn's Dcu

One of the bright spots of the theatrical DC footprint was 2023's Blue Beetle, which introduced actor Xolo Mariduea as Jaime Reyes. Even though the film arrived after James Gunn and Peter Safran were announced as the co-CEOs of DC Studios and the Dceu, as fans knew it would be changing, Blue Beetle was revealed to be a part of that new direction.
