Ever bothered to scan google for images from Ogrish? because that's a similar equivalent to Banned from Television. I got interested in watching it after scanning youtube for videos, and found a commercial for it and just couldn't resist looking it up. What i saw was extremely graphic and some of it I wouldn't watch again.
Banned from television is a documentary of footage collected from many different people, of extremely graphic content. you know when your news anchor warns you, "The video you are about to see is extremely graphic?" They don't know the definition of the word. in this video, graphic defines watching 2 men get crushed by a car, A hostage taker getting shot in the face (and it isn't as gory as it seems, but it will open your eyes to what a real headshot looks like.) A woman being attacked by a shark, and losing her leg (in my opinion the most graphic content in the video, her screams echo in my ears) A half-naked man being set on fire by a small Mexican village, Rebel Conflict in Africa, Execution segments, a man jumping from a burning building and landing on the ground, Police chases that end in death, and many other segments that you will never forget.
Seriously, it takes a strong stomach and a black heart to watch this. Either you will appreciate what your local police do for you, feel the reality of gun violence, or get nightmares upon watching the deaths of innocent, guilty, and or stupid people.

For a movie that shows old footage of the ugly side to humans and what happens really in the world. It's great. More people need to see this movie and see what happens in the real world and not just in movies. People need to know that this happens and what trauma it can give a man and not just some silly horror movie that gives a couple jumps like annable or chucky. This movie I up there with Salo and channel 309 as its quality may not be the best but it's features and what you see is the best part even though it's not really a horror movie but more of a bunch of horror clips.
Must say it's an epic gamer movie.

Immediately I say that there's absolutely nothing great in this film, it's just a shockumentary. It's not as graphic as its predecessor Traces Of Death, but some scenes are very shocking though and they have something in common: real footage - nothing fake!
It's waste of time watching this (yes, I wasted my time, but I don't suggest you to do the same) to be very honest, because there's none cinematic value in this film, as it had on Faces Of Death (1978) at least, despite also being in the category of shockumentaries. Watching this you'll just get out of your comfortable blob and find out how stupid human beings can be and how low they can go, and yes, you might surprise yourself...negatively. And that's the reason why I decided to review this, because the cowardice towards animals really pissed me off.

I am rating this low mainly for the choice of footage which is of low quality rather than for it's "ugliness". This looks like bottom of the barrel dregs served as alleged entertainment. The poor quality video/film clips are from amateur home video footage , police tapes and other sources. Some footage is 18 years old (for example the state trooper and getting verbal abuse) and it looks even older (watch time indexes on police footage for that one).
Some of the footage is in poor taste and does fit "banned for television" labelling. I would not pay money for this. It should be re re-edited and 50% of the footage dumped, and then might be better product.

Even if the Hollywood directors would love to have their movies uncut and unedited like the uncut version of American Psycho and Hostel one and two. Even if the Motion Picture Association of America could not approve uncut versions of movies because they want to be more edited Restricted versions and not Unrated or No Children Under Seventeen versions even though that sounds unfair to the director. The uncut versions of Hollywood movies should always be on DVD and Blu-Ray. Banned From Television should be great on DVD and Blu-Ray even these shocking scenes would look like uncut movie scenes theatres find too shocking to be shown.
