Actor Clive Revill, known in part for his work on Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, has passed away.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Revill died on March 11 while at a care facility in Sherman Oaks, California. According to his daughter, Kate Revill, her father died following a battle with dementia. He was 94 years old.

Revill is known to Star Wars fans for his role in the original cut of 1980's Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back. After he worked with director Irvin Kerschner on 1966's A Fine Madness, Revill was called upon to record some dialogue to be used for the voice of the emperor, in which the character is presented as a holographic projection. In the next movie, Return of the Jedi, Ian McDiarmid took over the role of the emperor, and in the 2004 DVD release of The Empire Strikes Back, McDiarmid's version was used to...

'Rugrats' is reportedly returning with a new live action hybrid movie.The iconic Nickelodeon cartoon - which first ran from 1991 to 2006 - is returning to the big screen in a unique way under the direction of 'Pitch Perfect' filmmaker Jason Moore.As reported by Deadline, the upcoming movie will be a mix between live action and CGI, with the babies themselves being animated.The script has been co-written by 'Saturday Night Live' star Mike Day and head scribe Streeter Seidell.The animated classic follows toddlers Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster, and twins Phil and Lil DeVille in their day-to-day adventures, with ordinary life experiences becoming grand adventures in their imagination.Other characters included bully Angelica Pickles (seldom seen without her doll Cynthia), Tommy's baby brother Dil, and their dog Spike, as well as parents Didi and Stu Pickles, Chas Finster, Drew and Charlotte Pickles, and Betty and Howard DeVille.

Popular animated series Rugrats is heading back to the big screen, this time in a film which will include a hybrid of live action and animation.

Rugrats was one of the most popular children’s shows of the 1990s. Created by Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó and Paul Germain, the series followed the midadventures of five infants – Tommy, Phil and Lil, Chuckie and Anjelica. It ran for nine seasons between 1991 and 2004.

The show became popular enough that in 1998 feature film The Rugrats Movie arrived in cinemas. This was followed in 2000 by Rugrats In Paris. In 2003, Rugrats Go Wild, which was a crossover with Klasky and Csupó’s other hit show The Wild Thornberrys, was released.

Spin-off series All Grown Up! ran for five seasons between 2003 and 2008. series of a CGI reboot of Rugrats was made for Paramount+ between 2021 and 2023, but it was removed from the streaming service in March this year.

One of Nickelodeon's most beloved shows is coming back to life as a movie, but it sounds like it's going to be a recipe for straight-up nightmare fuel. While it's best not to judge something until we see it, this one is tough to swallow. A live-action/CGI hybrid "Rugrats" movie is currently in the works, according to Deadline. Full details have not been made available, but that alone is enough to raise a great many eyebrows.

According to the report, Jason Moore is on board to direct the film. Since Nickelodeon is owned by Paramount, presumably that studio will distribute the movie. Then again, there's always the possibility this could go to Netflix or directly to Paramount+. Mikey Day, of "Saturday Night Live" fame, co-wrote the film alongside his "SNL" writing partner Streeter Seidell. This project has actually been kicking around for some time, with a "Rugrats" live-action...

Is nothing sacred anymore? Must Hollywood continue to transform our childhood memories into unholy cinematic nightmares? It would appear so, as the beloved 90s cartoon Rugrats is all set to be put through the godless machine that turns animation into a live-action hybrid (via Deadline). Though perhaps we should calm down and think of the good live-action hybrid movies that are out there...because there are definitely some.

Though it does make one wonder what elements of the Rugrats will be CGI and what will be live-action? Regardless of the strive for positivity, its near-impossible not to imagine the terrifying computer-generated versions of Tommy Pickles and the gang that Hollywood might concoct. Anyone remember the original version of Sonic?

“Rugrats” is returning to the big screen. Paramount is developing a live-action/ CG hybrid feature film that’s based on the beloved ’90s animated children’s TV show.

Tommy Pickles and his pals Chuckie Finster and Phil and Lil DeVille will be animated in the movie, which is set in the real world à la “Sonic the Hedgehog.” It’s unclear who from the original series — the foursome is orbited by bully Angelica Pickles, Tommy’s baby brother Dil Pickles, dog Spike, as well as their parents Didi and Stu Pickles, Chas Finster, Drew and Charlotte Pickles and Betty and Howard DeVille — will appear in the upcoming film.

Jason Moore, whose credits include “Pitch Perfect” and the Tina Fey-Amy Poeheler comedy “Sisters,” is directing the film. “Saturday Night Live” actor Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidell penned the script. Karen Rosenfelt is producing, along with “Rugrats” co-creators Arlene Klasky and Gábor Csupó.

Aang: The Last Airbender, the Avatar film currently in the works at Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Studios, has found its leads, Variety reports.

Dave Bautista and singer/songwriter Eric Nam are set to headline the animated movie slated for theatrical release on Oct. 10, 2025. Bautista will voice a villainous character while Nam will portray Aang, TVLine has confirmed.

Children's TV classic Byker Grove, which helped launch the careers of Ant and Dec, is having a reunion next month to celebrate the show's 25th anniversary.

Former cast and crew from the Cbbc show will appear at the Tyneside Cinema Royal Television Society event on November 7 to celebrate the drama series, which followed the adventures of young children in the North East at a Tyneside youth club.

Ant and Dec won't be at the event because of commitments with I'm a Celebrity, but have offered their support to it. The duo, who own the rights to the series, have allowed the Rts access to clips.

Chris Jackson, from the Rts in the North East and the Borders, told Newcastle's Chronicle: "We have been trying to organise something for the past couple of months. It was such an influential production and changed the landscape in the industry up here.

Another day, another death hoax for Lil’ Wayne. The singer apparently overdosed on Php, claimed some Twitter followers — except they were linking to another hoax from 2011.

There must be something about Lil’ Wayne that makes him so prone to the death hoaxes. Twitter and Facebook alike went crazy on Dec. 27, thinking that the rapper had died.

Chicago – Director Robert Rodriguez continues his “grindhouse” cinematic ways with his latest film, “Machete Kills.” This sequel to 2010’s “Machete,” the film is a gleeful celebration of 1970s exploitation films, villains played by familiar celebrities and the indestructible hero named Machete, portrayed by Danny Trejo.

Director Robert Rodriguez is a venerable do-it-yourself filmmaker. He broke through twenty years ago with his 16mm film classic, “El Mariachi,” and has followed that debut with a series of stylish comic book films like “Desperado” (1995), “From Dusk Till Dawn” (1996) “Sin City” (2005) and the four “Spy Kids” movies. The character of Machete first appeared as a fake 1970s-style trailer in “Grindhouse” (2007), which also featured Rodriguez’s film “Planet Terror.” Another Sin City movie is scheduled for 2014, subtitled “A Dame to Kill For.”

Unlike reality, this news sure doesn't bite.

According to Deadline, "Reality Bites" director and star Ben Stiller and writer Helen Childress are looking to bring their 1994 cult rom-com to the small screen, with the concept getting a script order over at NBC.

The comedy, to be written by Childress and executive produced by Stiller's Red Hour Television, will hew to the film's premise and follow Houston-based recent college grad Lelaina Pierce (Winona Ryder's character in the movie) as she documents the lives of her "slacker" friends/roommates with a video camera.

But don't expect less grunge and more hipsters when the single-camera series makes its debut chez Peacock, because it will still be set in the early '90s. All grown up now, original stars Ryder, Ethan Hawke, Janeane Garofalo, and Steve Zahn likely won't reprise their roles, though maybe Stiller could return as cable TV exec Michael Grates?...
