When season 3 of "The White Lotus" premiered on February 16, fans probably noticed that the theme song was ... really different. The same composer, Cristobal Tapia de Veer, has worked on all three seasons of Mike White's juicy HBO anthology series, but he's changed up the theme for each installment. Season 1, set in Hawai'i, featured a theme called (appropriately) "Aloha!" Season 2, which was set on the Italian isle of Sicily, got its own tune, "Renaissance" — which was pretty universally adored by fans — and now, we've got "Enlightenment," the season 3 theme that fits the installment's new setting, Thailand. So what was his inspiration for "Enlightenment?" Tiktok and cat sounds.

According to an article in Variety, Tapia de Veer was influenced by some unlikely sources for the show's third season.

He created the season 2 theme after The White Lotus was renewed by HBO, and creator Mike White requested some Italian elements be put in to match with the show’s new setting.

Cristobal told Variety, “I took a little time to make an intro that would have those elements with things like a little harp, and some opera singing and some orchestral beats…And once I had that intro I started figuring out how to bring back the elements that are recognizable from the first season, which are the voices. [The original singer] wasn’t there when I made the demo but I did take her voice.

Grammy Awards 2025 saw its fair share of controversy when Beyoncé won in the Best Country Album category and artists like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish left without an award. The Grammy voters have consistently managed to piss off many people. However, some snubs are so obvious that we start suspecting the entire voting process.

There could be works that don’t make it to the final nomination list. And there will be some that never make it past the list. Some artists were daring enough to call out The Recording Academy over these discrepancies.

Following a record-breaking night at the 2025 Grammys, Beyoncé has announced the dates for her highly anticipated Cowboy Carter Tour.

The 22-stop tour kicks off April 28 with four nights in Los Angeles. City stops then include Chicago and New Jersey before she heads to London for four nights, followed by Paris. She then returns to the States for shows in Houston, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta.

Her first of two night in D.C. lands on July 4 for an Independence Day event.

Charles Dance is to star as Michelangelo in a BBC-PBS docu-drama about the renaissance.

Dance is leading Renaissance: The Blood and the Beauty, examining how some of the greatest works of art in the Western world were born out of an era of violence, power politics and rivalry.

The BBC said the show will “reveal an unfamiliar side to the Renaissance,” with Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael also represented along with their patrons in 16th-century Italy.

Dance is well known for playing villains and authoritative characters on screen. The Emmy-nominee’s past credits include The Crown, in which he played Lord Mountbatten, Game of Thrones and The Imitation Game.
