The motorcycle used and wrecked in the movie was director Brian Ging's personal bike which he sacrificed for the scene. It was to be wrecked in the film, but was accidentally wrecked by an actor riding it to set the day before shooting. The bike was fixed up quickly and only shot from the "good side" for its scenes in the film.
Shot on location in an actual Bay Area high school while it was empty for Spring Break (Acalanes High School in Lafayette, California), the film's extras were all local high school students who had returned to school during their Spring Break to sit in the classrooms and the football stadium as extras.
