Knight Rider

Jurassic World Wraps Production
Is Chris Pratt finally going to get a vacation? The rising star recently toplined Guardians of the Galaxy, which has rocketed to the top of the box office and cemented its place among the finest superhero outings from Marvel, and now we’ve learned that his next big blockbuster, Jurassic World, has finished shooting.

News of the wrap came via director Colin Trevorrow himself, who posted the following image to Twitter:

Of course, Pratt has his final season as Andy Dwyer on NBC’s beloved mockumentary series Parks and Recreation on the way, and he’s been rumored as the lead for an upcoming Knight Rider film, but outside of those two parts, the guy might finally get some much deserved time off.

Sadly, Trevorrow will not. Just because Jurassic World hasn’t finished filming, that doesn’t mean...

Chris Pratt? Knight Rider Movie? That's The Latest Rumor
Provided that everything goes according to plan, Chris Pratt is on the verge of becoming one of the biggest stars in the world. Just this past weekend he voiced the lead character in the number one movie in America, starring as Emmet in Phil Lord and Chris Miller's The Lego Movie, and coming up soon he will be front and center of two major blockbusters, starring in both James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy and Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World. It's a crucial moment in the young actor's career, so it's hard to understand why he would sign on for something as misguided as yet another relaunch of the Knight Rider franchise... but that's the rumor that is going going around. We first learned about a possible Knight Rider movie this past summer when it was reported that The Weinstein Company had hired screenwriter Brad Copeland to pen the script,...

Rumor: Chris Pratt and Danny McBride in talks for Knight Rider
We haven't heard anything about The Weinstein Company's Knight Rider movie since Brad Copeland (Yogi Bear, Wild Hogs) was hired to write the first draft back in June, but if Schmoes Know's source is correct, the studio might be at the point where they are offering roles in their planned film. According to the site, Chris Pratt and Danny McBride are in talks for Knight Rider. It's not clear if Pratt and McBride are up for the same role, however it's...

Chris Pratt and Danny McBride rumoured for Knight Rider
News Simon Brew 13 Feb 2014 - 06:25

Michael Knight and Kitt take a step closer to the big screen, with the first casting rumours for the movie take on Knight Rider...

A big screen take on Knight Rider is a project that's been nattered about on and off for a while now, but it seems as thought The Weinstein Company is now dead set on making the film. Brad Copeland had previously been reported as working on a screenplay, and the first casting rumours for the project have now come to light.

A source for SchmoesKnow, a site with a pretty good track record on these sorts of stories, is reporting that offers are now out for Danny McBride and Chris Pratt to take the lead roles in the new film.  One, presumably, is set to be Michael Knight in the new movie, and the other might be lending their tones to Kitt.

Deneen has a new Objective
New York -- Brendan Deneen, who had been serving as director of production and development at the Weinstein Co., has joined the New York-based management-production outfit Objective Entertainment.

Deneen will serve as a manager for writers and directors in publishing and film, focusing on the sales, development and production of film properties.

Deneen's move marks a return to his roots. He started his career as an assistant literary agent at Wma before joining Scott Rudin Prods. as a story editor, helping land the outfit projects like Jonathan Franzen's "The Corrections."

He moved on to Dimension (then based at the Walt Disney Co.) as a development exec. There, he worked on projects like "1408," which has turned into a midsize hit. He joined the Weinstein Co. as director of development and production when the company was founded in October and was involved in such projects as "The Equalizer," "Knight Rider" and "Outlander."

Deneen's new clients include authors Amber Benson, L. Divine, Rick Hautala and Brian Pinkerton, screenwriters Brad Abraham, Gord Rollo and Scott Rose, and graphic novelists Dean Haspiel, William Harms and Tom Manning.

Deneen's move comes amid other changes at the Weinstein Co. Following the expiration of his contract, vp production Michael Schaefer left for a new position at Summit Entertainment. At Dimension Films, the Weinstein Co. genre label, the future of Richard Saperstein, president of production, has become a target of public speculation, though a Weinstein Co. spokesperson said Friday that he remains at the company.
