The story was ahead of its time and relevant til today. The novel was written by Sharat Chandra chattopadhyay,one of the most prolific writers of bengali literature. It portrayed a complex love triangle with twist and turns .The film bears the same title and beautiful acting by all the legendary actors like Uttam Kumar,Suchitra Sen,Pradeep Kumar,Pahari sanyal and Sabitri Chatterjee makes it worth watching. Everyone shined in their respective roles .Though the film deviates at the climax from the original novel but that creates little difference. Undoubtedly it is one of the best bengali dramas till date.
