This "horror" film was all over the place. I think I laughed for a good 80% of the run time. I can appreciate its late 90s/early 2000s vibe, but the story itself was whack. For starters, why is everyone from ny, and sound like they from ny, but it takes place in South LA? Even one of the cop cars had a ny license plate! Second, this movie was already done before. A boy was sent to jail or juvie, something like that, for being accused of killing one of their friends, so when he got out suddenly there was a slasher killing people in the hood right before prom. So you don't get credit for an original story. Third, I hope the actors that wanted to act as a career improved because all the acting was terrible. And everyone was stereotypically cast.
If you want a good laugh, watch this.

The acting isn't the best but isn't as bad as other low budget films I've seen. Its really good for what its worth. The movie is a horror flick although it has underlined discussions about issues that rarely comes to topic in big budget films, such as racism, stereotyping, different types of abuse, domestic, physical and sexual violence, sex views/roles(in the hood),violence, relationship conflicts (in the hood), parental guidance(in the hood), realistic behaviors (in the hood)and to a certain degree, how prison life compares and contrast with street life. All of these topics are displayed very well in this movie and the fact that the writer combined this with a horror twist is nice work in my opinion. The murders that took place in this film is not at all mild or weak, in fact for the production of this film I'll say it was done well. The actors personalities were on point to personalities you would find (in a hood on the west coast). Overall I think this movie is worth seeing especially if you like to watch a film for its quality rather than its quantity.
For a laugh, some friends and myself decided to rent this movie, tag line "Scream meets Boyz In Da Hood". We watched it. Prior to this night, my worst film ever was Jeepers Creepers. This has now been bumped down to 2nd place by Cutthroar Alley. This piece of Ghetto Oscar nominated fecal matter is a prime example of why certain people should for health and safety reasons stay away from cameras and digital filming equipment.
This film should be banned. My eyes are forever scarred by the 2hours that we had to endure. I shall never get these hours back. I am currently seeking counselling. My friends are all dead inside.
The filming is abysmal, a blind man could edit better and as for the Casio 808 soundtrack with free appearances from rappers who never made it, what else can be said. And worst of all, is the propaganda on websites from obvious family members who say that this film is da bomb. Call po po please for these fools! I am a film buff, i know a bad film when i see one, i grew up in the 80's, I endured films like Fright Night, Prom Night, Swamp Thing, Return of the Living Dead, Critters 2, Ghoulies, and Last House on the Left. This film makes those look like insightful documentaries, worthy of Oscars and Sundance Festival Awards.
Do yourself a favour...never see this film...
Here Endeth the lesson!!

Urban Style horror tale that raises the issue of stereotypes. This film is created by Timothy Wayne Folsome the same guy who made Jacked Up, which I only watched because my favorite rapper Bizzy Bone had a main role in it, Him and Mac-10 was only in here for about a minute and a half! So don't let their names fool you being on the movie case they are not main characters, that trickery , I did not like. I wasn't expecting top quality material. But the film for being low budget wasn't too bad! Timothy Wayne Folsome can really make low budget films work. It was fun seeing the nearly all black cast work their way through what is typically a white genre. Great plot that holds your interest and attention through out. There are so many suspects that you are still guessing at the end.
Cutthroat Alley was pretty darn good for a low budget independent film. I feel the movie starts off a little slow, but if you keep on watching you will become hypnotized in the film. Cutthroat Alley does remind me of Scream but I think Cutthroat is better because it is much more diverse. Besides the language in the beginning of the film, I feel it is a fun, exciting family film. The actors are fairly new including Bizzy Bone and Mack 10. They all did an exceptional job. There is one other actor that stood out to me, Bones not only is he handsome he has presence and he brings the energy. Well I hope you enjoy the film as much as I did!
