Michele Placido said he felt no embarrassment in dealing with the sexual scenes in the film with Giovanna Giuliani. Indeed he points out, "You can be the best of actors, but if you don't make real contact, 'skin to skin,' with your partner you will never be believable in the love scenes. We had no problems, because there was a great complicity from beginning to end. And I really liked that."
Towards the beginning of this film there is a unsimulated scene of oral sex, set in the dark room of a nightclub and played by two extras. But rumors talked of about half an hour of cut sequences, also explicit, in which some of the leading actors would be involved.
