Hallmark Channel may want to consider a nickname like Ali’s Place: Alison Sweeney is about to celebrate her 30th movie for the media company.
This Time Each Year will premiere October 24 as part of the kick off for Hallmark Mystery’s Miracles of Christmas programming event. Sweeney plays Lauren, who was once in love with Kevin (Niall Matter) but nearly a year after their separation, they now focus on co-parenting their young son Charlie (Ezra Wilson). Despite the split, Kevin is determined to make their family whole again.
A special first look of the film will debut during Sweeney’s 10th Hannah Swensen movie franchise installment, A Sprinkle of Deceit: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, that’s premiering October 4 on Hallmark Mystery.
“I couldn’t script this better, to reveal a first look at my 30th Hallmark movie during the 10th installment of Hannah Swensen is really special,” said Sweeney in a statement.

Before General Hospital‘s Rick Hearst ever starred in a daytime soap, he kicked off his career as the lead in a horror movie. Yes, before he was Scotty Banning on Days of Our Lives and Alan-Michael Spaulding on Guiding Light, he was Brian in a horror flick called Brain Damage. Brian and Brain — you see what they did there? Anyway, the movie was about a young man who wakes up to find that he has a disgusting little creature attached to his brain stem. Yikes.
Just Desserts
The 1988 film served as Hearst’s debut acting role. And last weekend, the Emmy-winning actor appeared at a horror convention in Houston, Texas, where he celebrated the cult classic about a talking parasite with fans. Hearst also celebrated the 35-year-old flick with cookies. Designed by @cakesbyjennifer210, the delicious dessert featured the actor’s face.

Contestants on Top Chef have faced controversies onscreen and off, including harassment claims and unfair treatment by producers. Chefs risk burns and cuts on reality shows, but severe head injuries should not be part of the competition. Show producers pressured a chef with a serious head injury to make career-altering decisions without proper support.
There have been many onscreen Top Chef controversies, like when a chef was accused of stealing someone else's food and serving it. Unfortunately, something that many fans don't know is that there have also been several behind-the-scenes scandals.
For example, Padma Lakshmi claimed she was harassed on set and one competitor claimed the show's locations disadvantage some chefs. According to a competitor from the Top Chef: Just Desserts spin-off, the show's producers also have a history of being cruel to the chefs.

As predicted by Charli Xcx, working with Lorde on a remixed version of “Girl, so confusing” indeed made the “internet go crazy.” And, it also touched one of Charli’s earliest friends, Marina, who shared that she teared up while listening to the two singers work through their differences on the track.
“This is beautiful. Just cried listening to it,” wrote Marina on X Friday. “It’s so courageous and humans to make work about this topic and it’s so healing to listen to it. Congratulations on an iconic album @charli_xcx.

The best baking shows on Netflix feature tantalizing confectionary treats and don't always have to veer into the territory of break-neck reality TV competition. Netflix has a variety of original and licensed content, but one of the most popular genres is cooking and baking shows. Zumbo's Just Desserts, for example, hosted by pastry chef Adriano Zumbo, shows the Australian Willy Wonka and his own dessert competition series, seeing some marvelous sweets. Another popular property from across the pond, The Great British Baking Show, is one of the most low-key but addictive reality competitions on television.
The best baking competition shows do more than showcase delicious desserts, though. They are an opportunity for experienced bakers to gain recognition, aspiring bakers to further hone their craft, and viewers to explore baking. Some of the best baking shows on Netflix teach viewers tips and tricks to bring into their own kitchens, some explore...

The news of Padma Lakshmi leaving Top Chef is huge for the show, but also important to reality TV. Lakshmi is the face of the Bravo series, having joined as host in Season 2 following the departure of Katie Lee Joel, and as well known as any of its contestants. Yet she's built her own brand -- most recently with her Hulu docuseries Taste the Nation -- so it didn't come as a surprise when she announced her exit on Instagram. She wants to focus on other things; the surprise comes from imagining the show without her.
As the host of Top Chef, Padma was essentially the glue that held the show together. She was the guide to the audience, in explaining rules and challenges and important food details. She interacted with both the contestants and the judges, particularly developing a rapport with head judge Tom Colicchio, which helped both sides' personalities shine.

Well, everyone, it's been 8 years. Not for all of us, as we watch week to week the latest horrifying exploits of hitman/actor Barry Berkman (Bill Hader) in the HBO show "Barry." But for Barry and Sally Reed (Sarah Goldberg), it's been 8 years since the events of last week's episode, in which Barry had escaped from prison and hid in Sally's apartment, to find that she was surprisingly willing to join him in Witness Protection for having named names to the FBI. Last week's installment ended with the shock that a long enough period of time had elapsed so that Barry and Sally not only had new identities in the middle of the country, but also had a son named John (Zachary Golinger). "tricky legacies", marking the start of the back half of the show's final season, is not remotely as eventful as last week's episode, which not only featured...

What is it? Jeanne and Jean are a young couple in love, but after their fairy tale wedding the pair are brought before the local lord to make an offering. He forces himself on her instead before sharing her with his court, and when even her new husband turns his back on her she finds pained, messy comfort with a devil-sent imp who offers to help in exchange for her soul.
Why buy it? Eiichi Yamamoto’s early ’70s slice of psychedelia, erotica, and still-relevant commentary is a beautifully disturbing descent into our shared history of sexual violence, oppression, and the abuse of authority. Sure, USA’s shows seem like they’re all the same with their formulaic titles and their never-ending runs. Unfortunately, all is not rosy in the land of Suits (the one about lawyers who dress well) and Psych (the one about a detective who only pretends to have special powers). News broke Tuesday that Necessary Roughness (the one about the counselor who works with football players) has been canceled. Yes, yes, it’s all very sad. But dry your tears and remember that this leaves room for the network to finally pick up on our idea for Just Desserts!

In this week’s Revenge, Victoria thinks she’s finally about to bring Emily’s house of cards tumbling down by playing her ace – the revelation that Daniel won’t be her first husband! But not only does the bride-to-be manage to trump her archenemy (as always), a wildcard emerges from the shadows that could make the villainess wish she’d folded a long time ago…
Just Desserts? | Early on in “Secrecy,” we learn that Victoria has decided on a co-ed bridal shower for Emily. (No shock there, the bride-to-be tells Daniel. “Everyone knows your mother prefers the company of men.

Creepshow is an anthology of five stories, some written specifically for the film by Stephen King and others adapted from his own short stories. With tales that include a dead father rising on father’s day for a family reunion, macabre drownings, monsters in crates, a strange “green” infection you’ll never forget and cockroaches revenge every story has a suitably creepy and memorable end.
I could take a look at each story in the anthology but I’m sure that people who are reading this review will no doubt have already seen the film before, if not then you are in for a treat – this is a movie directed by George A. Romero, based on the writing of Stephen King,...

Will and Sonny keep vigil for Chad. Is there time for a quickie in Will’s old hospital room?
This would so win on Just Desserts.
Will and Sonny are in the darkened hall on the way to their quickie when Maxine tells them that there’s no news yet. After she leaves, Will says ‘I wish there was something we could do.” Sonny’s eyes brighten and he says “i’ve got an idea. Come with me.” Quickie!
Daniel refuses to give up, dammit! Live, Dammit! Breathe, Dammit! Don’t you die on me, Dammit! Cameron and the nurse feel it’s hopeless, and I’m pretty sure the nurse is rolling her eyes. These scenes are intercut with Stefano in the chapel begging god to save his son, Dammit! Chad is gone, though. Daniel says ‘Call it,” and starts to walk away. When …suddenly … there’s a beep...

It's been over a decade since The League of Gentlemen came to an end on the BBC after three incredibly dark and incredibly funny series. It's been eight years since we finally bid farewell to the show's characters in the bonkers movie spin-off Apocalypse.
However, one of the show's creators Reece Shearsmith gave hope to the show's fans yesterday that there might be a reunion on the cards, tweeting a picture of three of the show's writers (or is it possibly four?) posing together.
Digital Spy presents you five reasons why the League of Gentlemen comeback must happen.

We know it's "a cross between Hoover and 8 Men Down", but we're still a little in the dark as to rules on the wildcards.

Creepshow, the collection of horror tales from Stephen King and George A. Romero, will be getting a new UK Blu-ray release from Second Sight Films. We’ve included a look at the cover art and the list of bonus features below. Unfortunately, there is no news of an upgraded Us version from Warner Bros., but the Creepshow UK Blu-ray will be available on October 28th.
“One of the classic horror anthologies, Creepshow is the gloriously ghoulish collection of comic-inspired tales served up by the masters of the macabre, Stephen King and George A. Romero. There’s the family reunion and a murdered father who still wants his cake; the backwoods yokel who discovers a meteorite with a life of its own; one husband’s vengeful plan that will leave his cheating wife and her lover up to their necks in it; another’s hope that the vicious occupant of a...

This week on CBS’ The Good Wife, as Lockhart Garden got whittled down, Peter’s campaign coffers got built up — and from a surprising source. Meanwhile, viewers got more insight into the dysfunctional dynamic between Kalinda and Nick.

Will, though — and against trustee Clarke Hayden’s advisement — forged on ahead, only to get waylaid by a new rule allowing for written questions from the jury, and they started doing damage to his case. Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 5, Episode 21 of The CW's "Gossip Girl," entitled "Despicable B."
How do you solve a problem like Blair Waldorf? Our staple "Gossip Girl" anti-heroine has been suffering from something of an identity crisis over the past couple of seasons, lurching from man to man and plan to plan with none of her former wit or withering disdain. The good thing about "Despicable B" is that the writers have apparently wised up to the fact that she's had totally bipolar characterization for a while now, and I guess it's better late than never to address that imbalance. We all know that the show is never going to recapture the glory days of its first two seasons, but this week's episode was at least a little less blunt-force obvious than "Salon of the Dead" -- enough for us to scrape together five...

It’s been a little over a year since San Francisco resident Yigit Pura won the first season of Bravo reality competition series, Top Chef: Just Desserts and was also voted fan favorite by the viewers. Since that television exposure Pura has been wearing many hats. While holding down his day job as Executive Pastry Chef with Taste Catering & Event Planning, he also signed on as a Bravo website blogger when the second season of Just Desserts aired in late summer. Plus, he appeared regularly at Lgbt-related benefits and fundraisers, and he's starred in a series of Cooking Channel videos with fellow gay pastry chef Zac Young.
Now, thankfully for us, he is shedding his shirt and being doused in rainbow sprinkles for a 2012 calendar benefiting Meals On Wheels.

To celebrate the release of Skyward Sword, we take a look at why, The Legend of Zelda could be the greatest series in gaming history. From Skyward Sword all the way back to the very beginning!
1. Good Vs. Evil
“Light and Dark are two sides of the same coin. One cannot live without the other”
Each of the Zelda games follows a very traditional story line. Some may say over used, but there’s no doubt that this formula has worked for countless films, games and books.
The rise of a hero who must rescue the princess from the clutches of an evil villain, that threatens to destroy the land/world/universe.
This is the bare bones of fantastic story telling and has been used by the most popular movies in pop culture.
Zelda has Link, Zelda and Ganondorf

Top Chef Texas has aired two episodes now, but I'm going to pretend that next week's is the first one, because otherwise I'd be ready to bail on this season because of produces' horrible decision to copy other elimination shows as it narrowed a large pool of contestants down to 16. The franchise is in a deep, well-worn, boring rut, as Top Chef Just Desserts' second season proved, so I can understand and appreciate the...

From TV pastry chef to child pornographer?
Reality TV has had its fair share of villains, but when the bad behavior happens off camera, it's still a bit of a shock -- especially in the case of 'Top Chef Just Desserts' Season 1 finalist Morgan Wilson, who was indicted on three second-degree felony charges of possession with the intent to promote child pornography.
Wilson, 38, was arrested on Dec. 7, 2010 -- less than a month after the 'Just Desserts' finale episode aired -- when undercover investigators received file transfers from him via Limewire on his computer in September 2010. The file transfers allegedly contained images and videos of children as young as toddlers engaged in sexual acts, according to Pegasus News.
Fans of the Bravo show will remember that Wilson (whose bio is still live on Bravo's site), who lives in Plano, a suburb of Dallas, Texas,...

Top Chef Just Desserts is nearing the end of its second season--the finale is next week--and while I've been watching, I haven't been completely engaged or excited. When was thinking about why that's the case, it struck me that the show feels more...

During the latest TCA, AfterElton had the chance-- make that pleasure-- of sitting down with several of the stars of ABC's Happy Endings. Last week we shared our joint interview with Adam Pally and Casey Wilson.
This week we have two of their hilarious co-stars, Eliza Coupe and Damon Wayans Jr. who play married couple Jane and Brad on the ABC sitcom.
It turns out this pair have nearly as much chemistry in real life as they do on screen. Check out what they had to say about their show getting picked up for a second season, Damon getting hit on by gay fans, Eliza's Ocd and more!
AfterElton: So Eliza, in addition to your work on Happy Endings, I'm also a big fan of you from your Scrubs days.
Eliza Couple: Aw, thanks!
Ae: And I want to know, how come you keep ending up with these wonderfully delirious characters?...
