Netflix has released the first trailer for their upcoming Netflix Original Movie entitled Wheelman, starring Frank Grillo. Since the trailer features literally no dialogue whatsoever, the footage is focused solely on the action, with Frank Grillo's title character speeding into the night, dodging other cars and bullets along the way. This high-octane and high-tension thrill ride could be just what action junkies are looking for when it debuts on Netflix this fall.

Frank Grillo (Kingdom, Captain America: Civil War) stars as the wheelman, a getaway driver thrust into a high stakes race-to-survive after a bank robbery goes terribly wrong. With a car full of money and his family on the line, the clock is ticking to figure out who double-crossed him and the only person he can trust... his thirteen-year-old daughter. It seems that every few years somebody announces science fiction is dead. In 2007 it was the turn of Ridley Scott, who then went on to make The Martian, so perhaps these claims should always be taken with a pinch of salt, particularly when we look back over the history of Sf writing over the years and find that it is a genre that is as much defined by current events than by any singular vision of the future.

For that reason, British science fiction in the 1950s was incredible stuff. Anxiety over the powers scientists had unleashed after the dropping the atomic bomb at the end of World War II obsessed many novelists, but so did a sense of despondency at poverty and suffering within a community...

And you thought seeing everyone’s favorite self-described “exorcist, demonologist and master of the dark arts” on Arrow was going to be the Constantine highlight of your week.

On Friday, Constantine showrunner Daniel Cerone — as a thanks to fans who retweeted an Arrow promotion — released a script via Twitter for what would’ve been the next episode of the cancelled NBC drama.

Kids In Glass Houses emerged in the wave of post Blink 182 pop-punk bands alongside You Me At Six, Simple Plan, All Time Low and Fall Out Boy. Hooks were falling from every pore as the albums ‘Smart Casual’ and ‘Dirt’ gained them increasingly more airplay and recognition. I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s looking to be our most ‘mature’ album.” However it turned out that the album’s concept was to wear feathers at Sonisphere and try to be more like Lostprophets, and that’s never a good thing.

The members of Miami hard rock band Black Tide are big genre fans, and in anticipation of the release of their sophomore album, Post Mortem, drummer Steven Spence and lead singer Gabriel Garcia took a few moments to compile a list of their Top 10 favorite horror films exclusively for Dread Central readers.

Austin, Texas — Is it possible that Pete Wentz is really a poptimist? Despite his dark bangs and Black Cloud missives, his best Fall Out Boy songs were always, at their very core, spiky slabs of pure pop. And no matter what may be going on in his personal life these days, his new project Black Cards seems to be solely focused around the idea of optimism.

So yes, perhaps he has been — and always will be — a poptimist at heart. And that much was certainly clear during the Cards' Wednesday night performance at South by Southwest, a 45-minute set that was as heavy on sparkly synths and bubbly dub as it was on, well, pure poptimism.

In anticipation of the upcoming release of Hellhounds on DVD (February 16th), we thought it might be interesting to talk with child actor-turned-director Rick Schroder. With Hellhounds, Schroder is a far cry from his days on the set of “Silver Spoons” or even “NYPD Blue.”

Schroder is taking genre fans to the underworld in an epic journey of a young Greek warrior who must rescue his love from the murderous grips of Hades.

Below, Schroder talks about Hellhounds, what film made him want to be an actor, and his upcoming projects, including Locker 13, an anthology film comprised of six vignettes that are connected by a mysterious Locker 13.

Heather Wixson: How did you get involved with the Hellhounds project?

Rick Schroder: I knew the producers since 1988. I worked for them on the western Lonesome Dove. I had just finished making the TV version of “Journey to the Center of the Earth...

For that film, Jones won a Faita (First American in the Arts Award) for “Best Actress.” Since then, Jones has appeared in Hell Ride, Three Priests, and California Indian. Along with acting, Jones has experience in the literary field as well, carrying a Bachelor’s in English from Columbia University...

Oher who inspired the book, is expected to be selected in the first round of this year's NFL draft.

Shooting begins on Sunday in Romania on the film written by Paul A. Birkett (Escape Velocity, Crash Landing) with Schroder in the director's chair and Scott Elrod of the recently cancelled "Men in Trees" in the lead role.
