Rebecca Romijn doesn't want more children. The 36-year-old actress - who has eight-month-old twins Dolly and Charlie with husband Jerry O'Connell - is happy with her family and has no plans to add to her brood.

Rebecca Romijn has reportedly revealed that the TV series of Eastwick differs from the film version. The 1987 movie adaptation of John Updike's novel starred Jack Nicholson as the Devil, and Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon as three small town women who fall under his spell. Imagine a show about three gorgeous women who discover they are witches.

No, not that show. I’m talking about Eastwick, ABC’s new show based on the John Updike book and movie of the same name, The Witches of Eastwick.

I admit that I tend to watch any show about witchy women, probably because I wish I had magic powers. But early reviews of Eastwick have not been kind. And if the lack of chemistry and stiff acting in this clip is representative of the series, I can see why.

Being a normal lesbian woman, I believe that any show starring Rebecca Romijn (Roxie), Lindsay Price (Joanna) and Jamie Ray Newman (Kat) deserves a chance to succeed, purely in terms of female watchability.

But personally, I’m not up for a Desperate Housewives or Lipstick Jungle clone. Nor am I thrilled about the prospect of watching yet another show...

ABC has now released full length trailers for three of their new shows, including "Eastwick," "Happy Town" and "V," that are a part of the 2009-2010 primetime schedule. ABC's new fall schedule includes an expanded "Dancing With the Stars," a two-hour Wednesday night comedy block and apocalyptic thriller "Flash Forward" being used as a lead-in for "Grey's Anatomy" on Thursday nights.

On Mondays, "Dancing," expanded from its usual 90 minutes, will give a strong lead in to sophomore detective drama "Castle," which showed more ratings heft when provided a direct boost from the reality show at the end of this season.

Tuesdays kick off with Mark Burnett's new reality competition "Shark Tank" (with the return of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" filling the slot in early fall). The "Dancing" results show remains at 9 p.m. followed by Jerry Bruckheimer's latest crime procedural, "The Forgotten."

The headline here is Wednesday nights, where ABC will become the third broadcast network to offer a live-action two-hour comedy block. "Hank," "The Middle," "Modern Family" and "Cougar Town" compose the lineup.

Fox isn’t the only network hoping to get audiences laughing.

ABC may be sitting pretty on Sundays, with the pairing of soapy melodramas Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters, and on Thursdays, also known as Shonda Rhimes’ night, are Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.

But on Wednesdays the network is less competitive. Lost will pick up viewers in 2010 when it returns, but for the fall, ABC is looking to a block of new half-hour sitcoms for some traction, and three of them have the backing of some big names in comedy.

Chicago – ABC is still struggling to find the next big hit to stand next to monsters like “Lost,” “Desperate Housewives,” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” and they decided to give Nathan Fillion & Stana Katic’s “Castle” a shot at hit status, but cancelled several other new shows, including “The Unusuals” and “Cupid”.

ABC announced their fall schedule today and made a few surprise choices, bringing back the increasingly interesting “Castle” and giving another chance to “Better Off Ted” and “True Beauty”.

Perhaps the most surprising move, especially considering the show’s poignant and excellent series finale, has to be the return of “Scrubs,” which will be back for midseason. They also announced 11 new series for fall and midseason.

Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment Group, today outlined ABC's plans for next season and unveiled the network's 2009-10 fall schedule before the advertising and media communities at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.

New fall and midseason series include "Cougar Town," "The Deep End," "Eastwick," "Flash Forward," "The Forgotten," "Hank," "Happy Town," "The Middle," "Modern Family," "Shark Tank" and "V."

"Better Off Ted," "Castle," "Scrubs" and "True Beauty" join previously announced returning series "America's Funniest Home Videos," "The Bachelor," "Brothers & Sisters," "Dancing with the Stars," "Desperate Housewives," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Grey's Anatomy," "Lost," "Private Practice," "Supernanny," "Ugly Betty," "Wife Swap" and 20/20. "Saturday Night College Football" will also return.

"Our focus is always on delivering the best stories with the most memorable characters on TV, whether that's established audience favorites or innovative new shows," said McPherson.

ABC is officially in the Jerry Bruckheimer business.

ABC on Friday night handed out a series pickup to the Bruckheimer-produced drama "The Forgotten," marking the uber producer’s first scripted series on the network.

Also on Friday night, ABC picked up drama "Eastwick," two comedies toplined by sitcom veterans -- "Hank," starring Kelsey Grammer, and "The Middle," starring Patricia Heaton -- and renewed reality series "True Beauty."

All five series hail from Warner Bros. TV and its reality/cable division Warner Horizon.

Lindsay Price is set to show off her singing skills in new TV show Eastwick - producers want the cast to turn an upcoming episode of the series into a musical.

The actress, who's also an accomplished singer/songwriter, has teamed up with Rebecca Romijn and Jaime Ray Newman for the new project, based on late author John Updike's 1984 novel The Witches of Eastwick.

The trio play a group of housewives who acquire mysterious powers after leaving their husbands. The tale was transformed for the big screen in 1987, with Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfieffer as members of a coven alongside a devilish Jack Nicholson.

And Price admits her TV bosses are already pressuring the musically-inclined cast to turn the small screen drama into a sing-a-long.

She tells WENN, "What most people don't know is Rebecca is actually a really good singer. Jaime Ray Newman has a great voice too. I'm more of a songwriter. I write and record. (Producers) said, 'By episode nine, you know you guys have got to make this into a musical?'"...

The TV Pilot based on the John Updike novel, The Witches Of Eastwick has gained two witches. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Lindsay Price (Lipstick Jungle) would be joining the previously announced Jaime Ray Newman (Supernatural).

"The Warner Bros.-produced "Eastwick" follows three young witches who come into their powers. Wma-repped Price will play one of them, Joanna, a hardworking, shy reporter for the local newspaper." This is actually the second time that the Witches have tried for the small screen, as a 1992 pilot greenlit after the success of the 1987 big-screen version, went unsold.

Creator John Updike passed away in January after fighting a battle with lung cancer.

It's hard not to be excited for ABC's forthcoming Eastwick, their TV version of the classic feature film The Witches Of Eastwick, which easily could translate into an ongoing series. Today it was announced that Jaime Ray Newman has landed one of the three leads in ABC's drama pilot, with Veronica Cartwright, who co-starred in the 1987 feature, also cast in a supporting role. The movie, which starred Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer, was based on the John Updike novel about three women who turn to witchcraft after losing (or booting) the men in their lives. They conjure up a devil-like character, who then proceeds to seduce all three of them.

This morning’s Variety confirmed what we’ve been hearing rumblings about for a while now: Veteran TV director David Nuttter is attached to helm the pilot episode for the proposed “Witches of Eastwick” series for ABC.

Not only has Nutter directed a lot of TV episodes over the years, but he’s 14 for 14 when it comes to helming pilots that get picked up for series. That’s a pretty damn solid track record if you ask me, and since the show’s going to have a supernatural angle, his experience on shows like “The X-Files” will come in handy.

Nutter is an X-Files vet having directed and produced many of that genre show's episodes. Later, he'd go on to do Millenium , Smallville and Supernatural . When I was in 8th grade, I had two teachers who changed my life. One was Mrs. Downes who kindly fostered my passion for creative writing, and the other was Mr. Dore who proved reading of great literature to be as important as listening to great music. This yin and yang, this one-two punch of  mentors on my pubescent and malleable mind set my future course. Which, gratefully, I still tread.

NBC has acquired the pilot Mercy, described as "a drama with comedic elements that revolves around three nurses bound together in friendship by the highs and lows of their personal and professional lives."

I'm not a big fan of medical shows, but if being "bound together in friendship" is anything like hugging a woman with your legs in friendship, then I will definitely tune in.

The script was written by Liz Heldens (Friday Night Lights), who will also be the executive producer on the show. No news on casting or the premiere date yet.

The New York Times named their 100 notable books of the year today and the genre, as one might expect, was likely under-represented. Graphic novels were entirely ignored and just four works of fiction could be considered within out genre and they are:

I suppose it was inevitable that The Witches of Eastwick would find its way back in front of our eyeballs at some point. The original is a pretty damn good film, and whenever that happens, there’s always someone in Hollywood looking to sequelize and/or remake it.

This time, out, it’s more the latter than the former, with ABC ordering a “Witches of Eastwick” TV show pilot that will be penned by “Dawson’s Creek” writer Maggie Friedman according to Variety. This isn’t the first time it’s been attempted either; in 1992 NBC had a pilot for a “Witches” show, and ten years later Fox tried their hands at it as well, both to no avail.
