“The Residence” is now streaming on Netflix, and there are a whole lot of suspects. But that’s what happens when someone gets murdered during a major White House event.

Shonda Rhimes’ new series centers on the murder of the White House Chief Usher A.B. Wynter, who is killed during an event that brings literal hundreds of people to the presidential residence. Don’t worry, you don’t need to keep track of all 157 suspects throughout the series. But you do need to know quite a few of them.

After popping in to appear alongside Tom Selleck and the rest of the dynamite cast of CBS’ hit procedural, Blue Bloods, Dylan Walsh has officially landed his latest gig post the show’s recent demise. Today, Deadline revealed that the actor, who fully broke through into television through his co-leading performance in Ryan Murphy’s Nip/Tuck, will be part of the leading trio in a thriller titled The Highest Stakes. Joining him will be Robot Chicken creator and Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum, Seth Green, as well as How To Get Away With Murder's Charlie Weber. The project hails from filmmaker Tony Dean Smith (Volition), with Gary Presler (Gold Diggers) penning the screenplay from a story first written by Steven Paul, who will produce under his Sp Media Group. Paramount Global Content Distribution is set to handle the movie’s distribution.

Never saw this coming. An epic Thursday Night Doc Odyssey and 911 crossover on ABC will unfold in late March. Yes, that means 1) the two shows are in the same universe, and 2) we’ll get Angela Bassett joining Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson on ABC’s rookie cruise ship medical series.

Variety initially reported the exciting news. The crossover will take place on March 20 during Casino Week on board Doc Odyssey’s resident cruise ship, The Odyssey. Bassett’s 911 character, LAPD Sergeant Athena Grant, will be on the ship in an official capacity.

Take a look at the episode’s synopsis, “Unexpected guest Athena Grant suspects two passengers are targeting the ship’s vault. Enlisting Max’s (Joshua Jackson) help, Athena raises the stakes in a dangerous game where not everyone will end up with a winning hand.”

Exclusive: Production is underway in Los Angeles on Vanished, the new action-thriller from director Jared Cohn (Vendetta).

Cast is led by Randy Charach (Hunting Games), Rampage Jackson (The A-Team), Richard Grieco (21 Jump Street) David Chokachi (Baywatch), Natalie Burn (Black Adam), and Al Sapienza (The Sopranos).

Also starring are Laurie Fortier (The Walking Dead), Robert Lasardo (Nip/Tuck), Vernon Wells (Mad Max 2), and James Pratt (3 Killer Pigs).

The film follows Jack (Randy Charach), a high-level defense contractor whose world is upended when his daughter is kidnapped and held for ransom, forcing him into a relentless fight to bring her home.

Charach Productions produced the film in partnership with Traplight Pictures, having previously teamed up on movies including A Killer in the House and Clutch.

In December, Cohn wrapped Hunt Mode with Nicky Whelan (Hall Pass) and Cam Gigandet (Twilight).

Netflix has debuted new images from its first English-language medical procedural show and set a premiere date of Apr. 3. Pulse follows a team of doctors at the busiest Level 1 Trauma Center in Miami. The show was created by Zoe Robyn and both she and Carlton Cuse are the co-showrunners and co-executive producers. The official plot reads:

“As a hurricane barrels towards Miami’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Center, third-year resident Dr. Danny Simms (Willa Fitzgerald) is unexpectedly thrust into a promotion when beloved Chief Resident Dr. Xander Phillips (Colin Woodell) is suspended. Brooke Shields is returning to the small screen. The actor, who first rose to fame as a child star in 1978's Pretty Baby and 1980's Blue Lagoon, will appear alongside Kim Kardashian in Hulu's new legal drama, All's Fair.

Per TV Line, Shields will also share the screen with three-time Emmy Award winner and eight-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close. All's Fair is described as a "high-end, glossy and sexy adult procedural set at an all-female law firm." Created by Ryna Murphy, the series will also feature Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash-Betts, Matthew Noszka, Teyana Taylor, and two-time Oscar nominee Naomi Watts. While character details are scarce, Kardashian has been cast as a successful divorce lawyer.

Producer and director Ryan Murphy has had plenty of hits and misses in his career, but The People v. O.J.

During her Jan. 13 Q&a with She Media CEO Samantha Skey (hosted by TVLine sister site Flow Space), Brooke Shields spoke warmly of recently acting alongside three-time Emmy winner/eight-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close and two-time Academy Award nominee Naomi Watts.

TVLine now hears that Shields worked with Close and Watts as a guest star on All’s Fair, the “glossy” legal drama that the prolific Ryan Murphy has in the works at Hulu. (Neither Hulu nor 20th Television would confirm Shields’ casting.)

FX’s Shōgun continued its awards sweep from the Emmys at the Golden Globes, winning the Best Television Series – Drama category in addition to Lead Actor in a Television Series – Drama for Hiroyuki Sanada, Lead Actress for Anna Sawai and Supporting Actor for Tadanobu Asano.

Unlike the Emmys, where FX’s adaptation of James Clavell’s novel competed as a drama and the 1980 NBC take as a miniseries, at the Globes both incarnations were classified as drama series, so Season 1 of the FX saga took the same Drama Series category its predecessor did 44 years ago.

Just as he did at the Emmys, Justin Marks, Shōgun co-creator, executive producer and showrunner alongside his wife, Rachel Kondo, accepted the top drama award. He framed his speech with an amusing domesticity anecdote.

Ryan Murphy has heard the questions about the naming conventions of his various FX series, but he doesn’t see the validity in them.

The TV mogul tells Deadline that he would “strongly disagree” with suggestions that Grotesquerie should have been under the American Horror Story banner, or that Aaron Hernandez’s story would’ve been better suited as a new installment of American Crime Story rather than the first in a new anthology series, American Sports Story.

“Grotesquerie has nothing in common with American Horror Story. It just does not. I think it’s the difference between doing Don’t Look Now and Halloween would could never have fit into that show. It was never considered for that. It’s a much different animal,” he said of the new horror series starring Niecy Nash, which revealed a huge turn in the story that Murphy and FX Chief John Landgraf also discussed with Deadline.

The One Tree Hill and Chicago P.D. star will join Grey’s Anatomy season 21 in a recurring role as Dr. Cass Beckman, a trauma surgeon who is amiable, fun and a little messy around the edges. She works at Seattle Presbyterian Hospital and is married to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital cardiothoracic surgeon David Beckman. At this point, it’s unclear if Dr. David Beckman will be cast as well.

Bush will make her Grey’s Anatomy debut in episode six of the current season, which will air Nov. 7.

Primetime Emmy Award-winning actor Evan Peters will reunite with Dahmer creator Ryan Murphy for a new series. The two, who have previously worked together on American Horror Story and Pose, are working together again for an adaptation of The Beauty.

Per Variety, the new FX series The Beauty is based on the comic book series of the same name by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. It will also star Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope, and Ashton Kutcher. We still don’t know much about Travis Kelce’s role in “Grotesquerie,” but we finally know how it came to be. During a press conference for the upcoming FX horror drama, series creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy revealed he wrote the role “specifically” for the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

The role came about after Kelce had a general meeting with Murphy to discuss the football star’s interest in acting. During that meeting, Murphy gave Kelce some “fatherly advice.” Murphy described the meeting as “lovely” and said that it ended with the showrunner telling Kelce he would keep him in mind and that maybe the two would come up with something down the road.

That’s when Kelce pushed back.

“He said, ‘No, I want to do it now. I have three months now, and I really would love to have anything,'” Murphy recalled on Monday.
