Riiidee the LIGHTNINGG!

The shivering yells of move names fill the air as soon as you pick up this classic game. Sure you might be thinking that its not that old, but as soon as it hit store shelves it was a classic in my eyes. The game features playable 2d characters each with back stories, and unique move designs.

Sure, many 2D fighters have filled the history book of fighting games, but this one is slick. The 2D animation is so smooth that at times it feels like your watching anime, and that is what many players look for, along with the in-depth fighting system, and steep skill level that is required to master this wonderful piece of art.

Is it the best 2D fighting game? Well that can be debated because everyone has their opinions, but I will say this. I have played street fighter, Capcom vs. marvel (and all of the spin offs), and many other 2D fighting games that have been voted to come out on top, and all I have to say is that well those games are good, only one game can ROCK heaven or hell, and thats Guilty Gear X2.

Heaven or hell, ROCK ON!

This has to be one of my favorite 2D fighting games. This gives me a break from Tekken and Soul Calibur. The music and graphics are great.. for a 2D fighter. I love the characters also.

The storyline is great also. Each character has a personality each of their own.

I highly recomend this game for fighting game fans.

Pure 2D Fighting Madness

Guilty Gear XX is one of the best two-dimensional fighting games ever, in my opinion. The visuals are amazing; even perfect. The characters are interesting and varied, as well as humorous, and the music is probably the best collection of Rock you'll find in any video game. It's an easy game to play at first, but tremendously more fun once you know what you're doing. Plus, going back to that music, the makers were kind enough to provide a sound test in the options to listen to all the music, even secret and rarely-appearing songs. The story mode is interesting and fun, arcade mode is a fun diversion, and mission mode is a great challenge (emphasis on challenge). If you can find a copy, get it. If you can't, get one of the variants of it.

Excellent, advised for anyone looking for something different

Hands down my favourite fighting game ever. Complete with an army of interesting, diverse characters you can really get attached to (trust me, I do =D), one helluva kickass soundtrack, a brilliant system and graphics to die for it blows games like Street Fighter out of the water. Daisuke Ishiwatari is most certainly a GENIUS.

It's a little tricky to get the hang of but that's part of the fun. Once you get started and learn all the moves all hell breaks loose and it's hilariously good fun. The plot's interesting and well layered for a fighting game plot. We haven't got the usual "OMIGOD bad guy tries to take over the world" thing here.

It's just nice to see something a little different on the market, you know?
